Those are cool photos...I think that's a Blue Whale in the first several pic's. The coloring reminds me of the Destroyer Gray on our late model Challengers!
I believe they were sperm whales. Blue whales are a LOT bigger.

Gary and I went through the Sandhills yesterday, and it was pretty green, as they have been getting rain. I was amazed at the flowers in this pic. Don't know what they are, never seen them before. They were quite abundant.

A few of my favorite pics that I entered in the open class photography this year. I had ten total entries. I love to play around with different color mats on the photos. That really does make a difference in the overall effect.

Forth one down that's the money shot!
Jeff! So funny, that is also my favorite! I should have posted a pic of it with the mat. The mat brings out the color of the plant blooming in front. Thank you!

Started bringing along my older Nikon cam during my daily drive to work since I always seem to see things and I never have a camera with me. I stow it in an insulated cooler tote in the trunk.

We had a stormy day here and this is just as the first round exited to the East and the blue skies were making their entrance in from the West. This is on the township blacktop by my Dad's place looking South over the neighbors bean field. That town in the distance has an old school building where all of us kid's went to Grade School.

Once a year I drive by this same spot. Last year when I drove through the yellow clover was blooming profusely. A LOT different this year! Here are the comparison photos:

Yellow clover is a biennial. For the most part, the first year it grows its root system and maybe a few inches above the ground. You may not even notice it unless you look very closely. The second year is when it takes off vertically making a dense carpet of yellow forage. In a nut shell, it takes two years to grow from seed to fruition and die. :)
