The one thing I enjoy about my '11 with the Uconnect® 8.4AN AM/FM/SXM/HD/BT/NAV headunit, was that on long journeys, I could but in a comedy DVD or a movie and listen to it while driving. Not watch...but listen.

Now, the new headunits have no optical disc. Just a couple card readers or something and a USB port. Is the USB port 2.0 or 3.0? Has anyone connected an external HD with some video on it to see if it plays? Loooooong trips, which are a breeze in this car, are made more bearable with various media. :)

From what I've read, a 32GB media(SD or USB) is the max that you can use. I would imagine a USB 2.0, but don't quote me on that. If your firmware is up to date, you should be able to play .wav files.

32GB thumb dries are fairly cheap. Just buy one and try it.

I have one and I'm going to try it in a Scat Pack Saturday. If there is no video, that will be a serious negative. :( Then my only choice will be to go aftermarket NAV headunit. And they ain't cheap........the one I like is about $800. :(
