In October I tried to install the latest software update for my radio system, 8.4N I think.

The install finished but complained about an error during the process and to see my dealer. I drove it this way until now even though the FM presets no longer worked.

Took it to dealer thus week to have them do the install. Fail. The install never finished at all on three tries for them. Now radio is dead. They are ordering a new one under warranty. I guess it normally costs $750.

To be installed next week when it comes in.

    Any others seen this?

There seems to be an awful lot of electronic issues with the newer Challengers.

    Two questions I have.

Will the new radio come with latest maps? My radio (2015) needed a map update.

Will I have trouble with Sirius over the radio ID?

I haven't installed any updates because mine works fine. They keep sending me notices to upgrade my GPS systems on my Challenger SRT and my Dart GT. At $ 149.00 each I leave it just the way it came from factory.

Captured audience I guess. These built in navigation systems are update money makers. About 12 years ago I had an Acura and they wanted $150 for an update dvd

I had done the security update in 2015 but this latest 2017 update did not work. Though my radio always had the SD card freeze problem from day one. I hope this new radio will work fine

I supposedly have a new radio put in under warranty. I will pick it up tomorrow morning and see how many things don't work. We'll see. I'm especially interested to see if Sport Mode works. I will check it all out tomorrow.

I have the new radio now. All seems to work correctly with it and the Nav except I STILL do not have a working Sport Mode. The Sport Mode was not working with the old radio before it died and is still not working with the new radio. It must be that latest software update for 2015 M6 cars. I noticed in the Sport Mode setup screens that two of the three options work correctly. You can set the traction control and the steering but it will not save the engine setting. You can set the engine to Sport but that is lost as soon as you leave the setup screen. The traction control and steering settings are saved but not the engine. I will formally complain to my dealer who installed the new radio under warranty to get on the record. I presume I will have to wait for the rumored software fix.

This is not good news I thought that their was a patch released that fixed the lost sport mode on the 2015 manual Challengers and we were onto getting Dodge to believe that the lost sport mode glitch was also effecting the 2016 manual Challengers so they would apply the sport mode patch to our cars as well. Now is looks like the patched software for the 2015's doesn't work and we are back to square one and waiting for them to really fix the 2015's before they can move onto working on a fix for us 2016 manual Challenger owners.

I'm not sure I have followed this whole topic but I have not seen a fix for 2015 M6 yet. My software is the same rev as the infamous late summer patch forced out over the air. That rev killed sport mode. I have not seen any patch for my car yet. I made my dealer aware of it and put it in my car's record and told them to tell me when a fix is ready. Is there data out there of a fix for 2015 M6?

I have seen posts in I think late September about a patch being released to fix the sport mode bug and a few 2015 Challenger owners saying they got the patch installed on an over the air update and it fixed the problem. And after several weeks of not getting a prompt to install the update on my 2016 Scat Pack I contacted Dodge to find out why I had not been sent the update I was told by Dodge the sport mode bug only effected some 2015 Challengers and Chargers with a manual transmission and the patch released was to fix the problem for the 2015 model year only. So the other 2016 owners with manual transmission Challengers and I have been trying to get Dodge to believe that we are having the same sport mode glitch and get them to send the patched software. Maybe if we can get Dodge to realize that they do not make a Charger with a manual transmission first then they may start to listen to and us and take our word that the sport mode bug is effecting our 2016 Challengers

I guess I will have to contact Dodge to figure out my situation. I don't think my dealer will be very proactive on it. If anyone can point me to posts about a fix for this problem, I'd appreciate it. Thank you.

I think the update Dodge released to fix the sport mode is 17.11.37 you can contact Dodge and see if they will send it to you.

OK, I just went through the www.driveuconnect.com web site. I put in my VIN and it said I needed a software update. Here is what it says:

The Update is named - UCONNECT_8.4AN_RA4_17.11.07_MY15
    Bulletin number - 08-047-17
    Release date - 2017-05-05

Before trying to do this, can any of you verify that this update fixes the lost Sport Mode for 2015 Challenger M6 cars? I'll do some more searches here on the board too. The release date seems too old since i was prompted to upgrade to version 17.11.07 in the fall of 2017.

    Thank you.

The 17.11.07 update is the one that broke my sport mode in July of 2017 and has been broken since, with no promise of a date to expect a patch too fix it. After this mess ever gets fixed the next time I see an over the air prompt in my Scat Pack I pulling the plug on my Uconnect antenna and wrapping my Challenger in tinfoil to avoid being forced to install the update!

Before I went over to the uconnect web site I was chatting with them on the MOPAR owners web site. The chat person on there (who referred me to the uconnect web site) made reference to a software patch that is being worked now and due out "this month" for whatever that's worth. I don't know what she was exactly talking about or if it is relevant.
