Tammy I have the same issue, my 2009 is rusting out and I never drove on salty roads, it's sad that dodge would spray that foam in the panels that caused this rust then do nothing about it, which it is their design that caused this rust, I bet my 2006 Mustang GT that I traded for this rust bucket don't have any rust on it. I also would bet if you could age the rust when it first started all the challengers rusting were under warranty, it just took our warranty to run out before the bubbles started to appear, sad sad on dodge, I will not be buying another dodge/Chrysler vehicle ever again.

I have a buddy who has a Ram. Same issue with foam over the rear wheels and rust coming through.

Was this in your 2015 or was this on an earlier model? Looking at a bunch of forums it seems that the quarter panel on the 2015 and up is designed differently so even if though the foam is still in there water won't get in (are the claims i'm gathering). I'm in the final stages of buying a 2016 R/T but if this rust happened on your 2015 already that's really going to make me reconsider. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Unfortunately this is a wide spread massive problem which I am experiencing with my 2010 R/T too, at this point it seems that Dodge's position which is basically ignore and double talk on this problem still hasn't changed, it's quite sad being that they've got a fleet of cars with this issue, I feel they've definitely given a lot away a lot of credibility over this by choosing to ignore this issue rather than address it . Lastly, IMO, it's come down to economics by the factory over this.
Hopefully one day there might be a class action lawsuit over this which may force the factory to reconsider this issue.

I have a 2016 R/T and compared it to BADGRAMPA's car over the summer. My inner fender is different than the older models. The design change appears to be related to the rust issues you mentioned. I do feel it is better suited to shed the water than the earlier version. Check BADGRAMPA's write ups on the issue, he has plenty of pictures of the problem as well as his final resolution. I am reasonably confident I will not have similar issues with mine, though I do live in Chicago. My car will see very limited use in bad weather, but I can not say never at the moment so only time will tell.

I'd love to see your slant 6 in other vehicle discussions . What did you do with your other car thread maybe.

I just bailed on a 2011 Chevy truck, less than 60,000 miles and it was poping out over the rear wheel on one side. Dodge isn't the only one with a problem.

The other day I saw a BMW 3281 that had big rust bubbles behind the rear tire on the bottom of the quarter panel and bottom of the front door it was from Washington State. It might have been 6-8 years old.

Just a note........I haven't seen ANY cars with rust issues in the South West, all states with a lot of rain or snow and/or salt on roads.

Honestly, that is one of the reasons I decided to trade at a little over the 36,000 mile warranty. Probably will do the same with my present Challenger. For me not only the car's age, but my age makes me want a newer car and no problems like this to deal with.

I keep tossing around idea too. The TA's are pretty killer.

I can only do it if they will come down on the price a little. We'll see.

Are they running some special discounts now??

Btw, this color is amazing. Just hides the dust!!! Never seen anything like it. Even dirty, it looks good!
