Anybody know what happened to the Scat Pack Stage Packs? I can find Stage 1. But Stages 2 and 3 are no where to be had. Did Mopar give up on this idea when they released the 2015 Scat Packs?
For another $4k you can buy the R/T Scat Pack, which comes with the 392 & 6 speed.Does anybody know of anyone who has added the stage 1 to their challenger? Any feedback at all?...
I know, that's the dilemma I'm at.Yeah I don't see how they'll be selling these scat pack stage kits all that well when you can just get a brand new Scat Pack with the 392 and 485hp in stock form. Put a tuner on it and you're at 500hp at the crank. It'll take a supercharger or nitrous to get the 5.7L to that level.
Good point...and my wife constantly reminds me that it's (challenger) paid for.Yeah you have to think really hard about that. $23K for 110hp, different front end and rear end, and vented seats? Not sure that's really worth it, at least to me anyway. If it were me I'd keep your car and put a supercharger on it.
I crunched the numbers out too. If I got $20K on trade in on my car, got a new Scat Pack for $41K, got the employee discount, paid taxes and stuff, I'd be looking at a $18-19K loan. It would be about $350 for 4 years at a low APR.
My car will be paid for in March, going to pay it off early, and then it's mine, no more payments, etc. My wife is leasing a Chrysler 300 right now for $250 a month so just having that one payment would be nice. To top it off, my daughter just started preschool and that's $300 a month. So that sort of answered the question for me haha!
If you've got the money to play with then getting a brand new one would definitely be cool. But speaking strictly from a financial point of view, it's completely ridiculous. Your car is already really cool as it is, you've got tons of mods, I'm sure it's really fast already, etc. You could take that $300 a month you'd pay on the new car and save it and in less than 3 years you'd have the money to pay cash for a supercharger.
In fact if you keep your eyes peeled you can find good deals on stuff on here. There was a guy that just sold his Edelbrock Eforce supercharger for $4K with hardly any miles on it since he got an upgraded setup, etc. Someone scooped that up within days. You could probably get away with under $6K buying a used supercharger and then paying for install/tuning. Just have to be on the lookout.
If I were getting a Challenger for the first time right now there's no doubt I'd stretch a little and go for the R/T Scat Pack, it's the best bargain out of all the Challengers in terms of performance and affordability. But taking a hit on trading my current one in just to upgrade is not so thrilling.
It all depends on your budget and situation and desires.
As much as I would love a '15 Scat Pack, I just love the look of my '14 RTC so much more, inside and out.For another $4k you can buy the R/T Scat Pack, which comes with the 392 & 6 speed.

I am considering trading up to a Scat Pack vs installing forced induction...almost the same power gains and newer features.
Chizzle: I understand your dilemma. I went through similar angst in '11 with the release of IE. I wanted that car bad, but after running the numbers and what my dealer was willing to take in trade for my 6 month old PCP Classic just wasn't worth the bath I'd take. In the end, I went with a ProCharger install to satisfy the need for speed. Yes it wold be nice to have the latest and greatest electronics, suspension and brakes but it's nice not having a depleted bank account ( as CDahl suggests). Finally, with mods I've added over the years , it would be hard to start tabla raza with an entirely new Challenger.
X2 I would not look forward to re-donating all the sweat & time (and money) I put into mods over the years.Chizzle: I understand your dilemma. Thanks....it's as if I have a new and different car. I also like the bling factor it adds under the hoodCongrats on the Procharger too, I'm sure that really woke the car up big time!
Thanks! Black was the only other color in contention when I was weighing my choices.Dude, you're PCP is the balls! PCP and HO are the only colors that would have made me rethink my black on black, but I don't think those colors were options on the '14 RTC.
To the flywheel perhaps. If you want to purchase a Scat Pack 1 Kit all you have to do is simply go to your local Dodge dealer and ask. But remember, not all Dodge dealers can do the work. Only the bigger ones with a full Service & Parts Department can do the work. The scat pack 1 performance kit (77072302) for the 2014 Shaker only cost $1,800 plus $100 shipping cost, plus $200 for install. You get 20 more hp and 22 more lbs torque and that in-your-face mussel car sound. I think it was worth the money. Oh, and you get two nice looking Super Bee emblems that go on the side passenger windows. My car now has 395hp and 432tq.
I can't wait for the Scat Pact 2 kit to come out. I'm told it will have gains of 20 to 30 hp on top of Scat Pack 1. If that is correct Scat Pack 1 plus Scat Pact 2 will equal approximately 415 to 425 hp with toque of approximately 440 to 445lbs. If true, an RT with Scat Pack 1 and Scat Pack 2 installed will have the same hp and more torque than the original SRT with the 6.1 engine...WOW!!!
And, there is still the most extensive Scat Pack to go...that of Scat Pack 3!!!
You can now have your 5.7 Hemi from mild to wild. From the factory 375hp to (kit 1) 395hp to (kit 2) 425hp to maybe (kit 3) 450 or a little bit more.
Since I have a 2014 Shaker...to me it's way better to go down the "factory" Scat Packages route than trading in on a 2015 392 RT route. Just think, how special and how cool a 2014 Shaker 6sp with factory & dealer installed Scat Pack 1, 2, and 3 be? Yes, in the end it will cost $2,000 to $3,000 more for all three to be dealer installed than simply treading up to a 2015 392 RT but just imagine opening up the hood on that factory 2014 Shaker and seeing those heads, headers, listing to the sound, and seeing the Super Bee 3 emblems on the side passenger windows. Yes, the 392 will have 485hp/475tq but my 2014 Shaker Scat Pack 3 will have at least 450hp/450tq (maybe a little more)...from the little 345 Hemi.
It's all good...it's all fun...everyone has to decide what's best for them.
Didn't you mention your car was paid off? Instead of going 23k in debt take out a loan for $8k :gy:X2 I would not look forward to re-donating all the sweat & time (and money) I put into mods over the years.
I would like to do what you have done one day, either a blower or turbo setup of some kinda. Just gotta get the $6-$8k together first![]()
