The oil pressure warning light should turn on if oil pressure is low. Is the Wix oil filter the one you usually use? You also said 5 W 20 oil, 7 quarts right? JMO--try changing out the oil filter you just installed, might be defective.-:4-dontknow: Good luck.

Yeah it's what I'm thinking, I really don't want to have to deal with all this tonight, one being I have to raise car up pretty high in order to keep the good oil I just filled.

With a defective oil filter wouldn't I lose pressure somehow? The other thing I'm thinking is I used O Reilly's brand of oil when I used to have a Dodge dealership do my oil changes. I moved across the country since then and I won't let some slop shop oil change shop do my changes.

I took the wix filter off to find it only had 6 oil galley holes. I replaced it with a mopar mo-899 which had 8 holes. Still makes the sound. Although it's not a tapping lifter sound but almost sounds like severe belt noise. Belt looks in good condition. I don't understand how I can change the oil and then have engine noises. I also prefilled the filter this time around just in case.

Took the kid to school this morning, still making noise but it isn't hemi tick noise. My engine light also went on though it's not blinking. Sounds like loud pully noise. I don't understand how doing an oil change is bringing me this head ache.

Have you checked the dipstick to ensure the engine is not overfilled or underfilled? Are you sure you can trust the quality and grade of the new oil you poured in?

I don't know your level of experience, so just covering the basics.

I have run many Wix 57899 filters on mine and have never had an issue. Better quality than the Mopar 899 IMHO. (I've cut them open.)

I've always run Valvoline oil with Wix filters and no issues here. I agree with the others though, the oil shouldn't have changed anything and the filter if clogged would give you lower oil pressure at idle and while driving but shouldn't cause that big of an issue.

If the check engine light came on then just drive up to Advance Auto or Autozone or whatever is closest to you and have them read the code. Jot it down and see if you can figure out what it means. Hopefully it's just something simple.

If your oil level is too low it will make some noise, but it would have to be something like 2-3 quarts low for that which if you put 7 quarts in you're fine.

OK, here is what I found. One I am such an idiot being I didn't close the catch can valve all the way after draining it. It was the air blowing that was making the noise, I know how stupid could I be to forget such a simple deal. I did however have the codes read, came up with P0507. I disconnected the battery to try and clear it to no avail.

661 vacuum leak
662 dirty throttle body
663 IAC motor defective
664 poor electrical connection to IAC valve

So will my mistake automatically lead to these codes?
Is there another method of which to clear?
Not sure if I need to address these.

Battery disconnect seemed to do the trick after restart. Thank you guys for the suggestions. I still feel like an idiot with forgetting the catch can valve open, won't do that again I can assure you.

That's awesome man, always cool when it turns out to be something simple like that. Glad it worked out for you. We've all been there before. Good to hear your car is okay!
