I posted this on another thread but it seems buried and I didn't see any feedback so I though I would post again.

I have been wanting to do this air-box mod for awhile to add the tube connection to the headlight - just hadn't gotten around to it. As I was ordering the parts - I wanted to do the DIPS screens as well and then I saw this warning on the their website:

** NOTICE TO "SHAKER" EQUIPPED CHALLENGER OWNERS **
We are very much aware of the trend/hack within the 2015+ Challenger "Shaker" equipped community, that utilizes our DIPS unit and makeshift/aftermarket hose/ducting to then mate up with the OEM Shaker barrier wall, in order to make use of the AirCatcher headlight hole as a secondary source of cold intake air.
Genpartsco official stated policy is as follows:
Genpartsco will Not suggest Nor recommend the use of our product for this type of Do It Yourself conversion. Doing so, can place unintended stresses on both the DIPS unit and the headlight assembly itelf, that neither component are designed to withstand. These stresses can over time, result in direct (& very specific) damage, cracking &/or deformation of one or more related components &/or other system complications. Genpartsco will not be held responsible for damage resulting from any such conversions or for any other DIY methods, alterations, modifications, attachments or uses of the DIPS unit for any purpose outside of their intended & stated use.

    What's this all about?

Someone screwed up their headlight assembly, and tried to blame it on the dips......

Would be my guess, since that’s seems to be how some folks operate these days.

I had it on my 2016 Shaker, no issues in about 4000 miles before I traded it for my 18. I'll be doing the same thing on my 18.

If you are really worried about it though, don't clamp the dips to the inlet tube. It'll still stay in place.

Yep, someone screwed their mess up and went after them to replace it so they added that disclaimer so you know they are not responsible for any mod issues.

Yeah, I remember seeing pictures a while back of a headlight with what looked like stress fractures around the halo portion of the headlight... supposedly from the dips...

I've done the dips with the mopar official air inlet tube connecting the headlight to the air box on my Scat Pack Shaker. No problem.

I'm still going to do the mod - just cant figure out why they are singling out the cars with Shakers as problematic. If it's fracturing the halo portion of the headlight it wouldn't really matter shaker or non-shaker. Could it be the airbox on the shakers causing the issue and maybe they are not as secure or robust as the Hellcat airbox ?

X 3, I used it for a year on my SPS before trading it for my HC. Now I use the same DIPS on my HC. No issues when it was installed on my SPS.

I've had mine on for almost a year. No issues. I will say after reading that I'm a little worried.

You should be fine then as long as you only use them as intended without any unintended modification. Now that it's brought up it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on things myself though.
