I have been having discussions the last two days with two different dealers on buying a new 2023 Scat Pack in Plum Crazy. Wasn't going to share this until I actually got the car, but I thought it would be good to share this now, get your opinions, ideas and also maybe help a few of you who are interested in getting a new one.
My choice of dealer was taken away as my dealer in Rapid City, SD was only allowed ONE new Scat Pack. It was purchased last week. This was before I realized that there would be NO other allotments on the 2023's. Dodge has totally lost their mind at how they handled the new 2023's. But that is discussion for another thread.
Yesterday and this morning I searched on the Dodge website for dealers in my area that I could buy a new Scat from. Two dealers that are about 200 miles away each had 2 Scat Packs available to order. The first one in Kearney, NE wanted $5,000 over the MSP. They also require the $5,000 up front!
The second dealer in Grand Island, NE was MUCH better to deal with. While they want $3,000 over the MSP, they only require a $1,000 deposit. I have the funds for this car. So I am willing to put up the extra $3,000 to get my last challenger in Plum Crazy. I wanted that color in 2020, but as luck would have it, they discontinued it!
I am not getting the dynamics package this time, so that helps, but the price of these cars is up considerably since 2020. The price now is $54,605, without the markup.
My current 2020 Scat cost $47,964, then $4,850 was taken off in that incentive they had going on. My trade in on the old 2016 Scat was $28,000. It didn't have the dynamics pkg. and had about 38,000 miles.
They are saying my trade in value for the 2020 Scat will be somewhere between $36,447 to $38,825. So I consider this about as good as I will get. Then I can quit thinking about it!!
Please feel free to give me opinions and disagreements! This post is to help others and me!!!
Thanks for reading!
