I installed a Solo Mach X-6 (square tips) on my 19000 mile 3 year old Challenger. I wanted to do this job before the fasteners and pipes were all one solid mass. Amazing how I forget how difficult this type of project is. Here are some observations of my install for anyone that may see this post in the future.
1- The rubber hangers are very tough to get off even with soapy water. Large Channel Lock pliers are helpful and needed.
2- Reattaching the 2 rubber hangers in front of the diff to the new forward muffler assembly requires that the right side be installed first then a long thin screwdriver is needed to pry the left hanger onto the left pin. Once started it will slip into place.
3- The 4 hangers fore and aft of the resonators are attached to the under body by screws (13mm socket). It is best to remove them from the car then transfer the rubber and hanger to the new parts later.
4- The front pipe clamps are spot welded to the stock pipes. Just loosen the bolts and pry the clamp open but don't attempt to remove.
5- During removal of the forward muffler section/right tailpipe assembly, do not allow the assembly to hang from the cat pipes. It will not come off. The tail pipe can be supported by a jack stand and then the assembly can be twisted and pulled back until it falls off.
6- The cat pipes are bolted to a small bracket. If the new pipes do not line up one bolt can be loosened to allow the pipe to find its new center. Mine was 3/16" off but once I loosed the bolt it slipped together easily. The nut is 17mm and the bolt head is 15mm.
7- Tightening the band clamps with a Harbor Freight electric impact gun made that part of the job simple.
8- The fasteners supplied appear to be standard zinc plated steel. I may change them out to stainless later.

The Solo system is quite a bit lighter that the stock system. I was worn out after I got done so I fired it up just enough to get off the ramps and put everything away. Sounds good. I'll get to really run it on Monday.

Cool man, sounds like a lot of work but always cool to do it yourself. How do you like the sound? Seems like a nice system for the money compared to others out there.

Thanks. I really felt it the next day :)
Well Carl, the skinny pedal is now the LOUD pedal that's for sure. It sounds like my built 40 over Slant 6 with Holley 4 barrel and headers from the 80s.
Comparatively speaking my 02 Monte SS (Magnaflow) has a much deeper tone but that is 6 into 1 into 2 with a single cat and 3 mufflers (or resonators). Not to mention that the Challenger is 2 seconds faster to 60 than the SS.
This one is pretty much 3 x 2 except for the crossover muffler so it went from 6 sound attenuating devices to 3 (2 cats and 1 muff). Works great as an audible throttle position indicator. I can't imagine what the Hemi sounds like with a Solo system. YIKES! I bet its pretty mean.

That's cool man, sounds like it worked out well! I've been eyeing that Solo Mach X system for a while now. Might pull the trigger sometime next year. The stock system on my car sounds pretty good really, but it could be a little louder.

Am am really struggling with which way to go exhaust-wise. How would the Solo system go with a 0500 start up as that is when I leave for the lab in the morning. Is it loud enough to make my fellow neighbors angry with me and congregate like so when they see me?

Scooter, if you keep your foot out of it then it's quite mellow. Pork it all the time and you'll probably experience the pic you posted.
It's day 2 with the new system (Sunday it rested) and I'm getting used to the new sound. I really can't hear the CAI anymore though but I am sure it is adding to the exterior "ambiance" ;)
Oh, and I am liking the look of the square tips.

The sound clips I've heard almost sounds like stock, slightly louder maybe, but when you step into it it's much louder than the stock system. I would guess starting it up early in the morning wouldn't be an issue, not like having open headers or something.

I love my Solo exhaust! It is a little louder cold than warm, but if you keep the RPM's down the neighbors will be happy.

Mine seems to be mellowing a bit or maybe I'm getting used to it. It has been about a month, the tone is just slightly deeper but is still fairly loud at WOT.
