I'm new to the whole mod world and was told that I can put on a pair of stock srt8 headers and mid pipes I have on my 2011 chally R/T and was told its just as good as if I went with a aftermarket pair of headers is this true??? what are the pros and cons to doing this

Yep it's true and cheaper. I know several people with over 500 hp cars using them, they work fine.

You will need new gaskets, bolts and mid-pipes...they are getting somewaht had to find used... the HP gain is the same as shorty headers...let us know how it turns out...

ok cool I have the headers and mid pipes a friend gave them to me year ago was going to junk them thank god I didn't!!! what about the ERG cut I keep seeing people talk about and the 02 sensor ?????

ok wont lie 100% lost on that article!! I'm a little unsure now cause I have seen people say the 09 + challengers don't have erg's and this article that says they do so what's the truth can I just bolt them up to my 2011 rt and have no problems and go or will I run into problems going this way with headers ???? any input would be great

I put SRT headers and mid pipes on my 09 Challenger and you will need to buy an egr extension harness for 1 of the egr's. I also had to get another dip stick and tube from an SRT because the SRT headers got in the way. I had a place in Pa. do the install. It took 2 mechanics all day to complete it. They disconnected the motor mounts to get clearance required to bolt on the new headers. The SRT down pipes are 2 3/4" dia and the R/T has 2 1/2 " pipes. They will have to be adapted. You will have to get a Diablo Tuner to get the power out of the headers but from your butt you will feel the difference. I had to get a custom tune because the EGR's were throwing codes and it won't pass NY State Insp. so the car becomes a parked display only vehicle. Do keep your old exhaust parts in case you have to revert back to the old system. Rather than mess with the codes I bought a 2012 SRT. The fellow who bought my 09 the next day sold it within a year. Maybe now it is out of State. Tuned it did run like a bear, but not like my SRT.
