Question for folks....

On a PD (Positive Displacement) blower, what is the triggering mechanism for the boost to kick-in causing the car to really accelerate and throw you into the seat?

For example, is it reaching a specific level of engine RPM? Vacuum level? Boost pressure? Electrical impulse? Mechanical trigger? etc.

Whatever the answer is, can the threshold be tuned or set differerntly? Thanks!

admins - I placed this in the improper section - can you please moved to the Forced Induction area? Thanks!

They use a Vacuum Boost Valve. Yes a Good Tuner can change when the Boost comes in to a point.
