The Black Ghost....a different perspective!

I stumbled across this today and found it very intersting. I do not subscribe to thie guys channel. I think this is nothing more than his opinion based on experience. But, the points he makes about real street racing cars on that era are very true. Nobody who was serious about street racing bought a new car with all the options checked and if you were around any street racing then, you know that. This car was not a serious street racing car

Regardless, an interesting video:

BTW this idiot keeps harping on a 14 second car... Amazing when this comes up at what point was a sub 14 second claim given on the GHOST?

Another point, tires of the day. I don’t know about the original but I know a couple of people that have run reproduction Polyglass and red line tires and they are surprisingly sticky. Pretty good in the straight line, not so good for cornering

All the tires in the day were pretty poor for traction, the rubber compounds were very hard, it was very easy to spin them. It took a great amount of practice to get a good launch, there were no 2500RPM +clutch dumps without a lot of tire spin.
Yes, I was there in that time frame on Woodward Ave. and Gratiot doing the street racing thing ! The only car that ever gave my 1969 Mustang Mach1, 428 CJ, ram air [shaker], 4 speed, 3.9 diff. was a 1970 RR 440, six pack, air grabber, 4 speed. At the local drag strips the best running 426 street Hemi 4 speed cars were running 13.50 with after market open headers, cheater slicks, and 3.9-4.10 rear gear.
So yes I'm calling BS on this so called "street racer" myth which I never heard of during the day. Uncle Tony is right on point calling out this obvious scam !
