Our Challenger is the car my son (age 22) drives. He had a 2006 Mustang convertible that we had done some work on. Mostly cosmetic upgrades. Well, his sister and girlfriend got new cars and he was bitten by the bug. He starts looking on line for a new to him used car. Now his older brother works as a salesman at a Chrysler/ Dodge/Jeep dealership about 2 hours away from where we live.I said if he was serious he should look at his website. Well there it is, a 2015 silver SXT Plus with navigation and lots of other bells and whistles, and only 5,500 miles on it. It still has 19 months on the 3/36 warranty and it is certified pre-owned car, so 7 yr/ 100,000 power train warranty. I called my older boy and told him the car is sold, pull it out of inventory. We bought it sight unseen this past Sunday.

Here is my story, I've wanteda Challenger when they where introduced in 2008. Been saving and had enough for my down payment for a used one. So I've been looking threw auto trader, car gurus, auto list for that perfect car. I'm in upstate NY found a black 2014 Challenger classic with the red stripe with 19500 miles in PA 420 miles away. I talked to the dealer and expresses to him i wanted a car with no scratches, dents, chips etc. That i am extremely particular. The salesman assured me the car was in showroom condition. So drove threre with an in closed trailer to bring it home since its winter here and I'm not going to drive it in the snow. I get there and see the car for the first and it was a major disappointment. Car had numerous chips on the hood by the door handles, and hundreds of chips that went from the front wheels to the back wheels on both sides of the car. I didn't take the car and out $220..on my way home only 60 miles form home i stopped off to get fuel and there was a Dodge dealer there and why not drive threw the lot. Low and behold in the back they had a 2013 blacktop edition Challenger 6 speed with only 7000 miles and this car was like new and absolutely popped so I bought that one. Drove a ton of miles to find the perfect car only 60 miles from home. Can't wait i pick it up this Tuesday!!

Most of my co-workers are gear-heads and I'd just roll my eyes when they talked about muscle cars. I really couldn't care less about it. Then we are all out to lunch one day at work, watching "Wheeler Dealers" or something the bar TV, when a Dodge commercial comes on. I just sat there staring stupidly at the Challenger like a deer in the headlights. Mouth probably open too. When I come to, my co-workers just all start laughing at me and one says,"yeah, I remember when I first got hypnotized." They all nod at his statement. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Was I really feeling like he said? I dismissed the jabs as ridiculous and waited for my lunch to arrive. They all just laughed again and went back to watching the show. The whole time I just sat there thinking of the Challenger I just saw. I remember thinking I hope that commercial comes back on. I even went as far as looking for it on YouTube. I did that covertly as I couldn't let the others know. After all the crap I've given them about their "money-pit obsession", I'd never hear the end of it. I find the commercial and turn the volume down. Trying to look innocent, I casually watch the car. I glance up occasionally to see if I've been found out, but it looks like I'm in the clear.
Later, after work, I go to the dealer and inquire about the Challenger. I test drive one and swallow my pride. All I can't think about is what my co workers will say. I recall what one of them said to me awhile back.... "you only live once!" So I pulled the trigger and bought it. The next day I show up to work with it. A call comes over the loud-speaker at work saying,"will the owner of the new Dodge Challenger please come to the parking lot?" I started to get butterflies. What was I going to say to them? I've always shunned their type, but now I becoming one of them. I come around the corner to find my gear-head co workers standing next to my new car. Their grins said it all....... "Welcome to the Family!"

IMG_0804.JPG Nice stories everyone. Mine is simple. Always been an American V8 guy thanks to my grandpa (RiP). Always wanted a Chally but ended up buying other cars instead. I had a 14 GT that I bought new, cause the wife wanted one and after 3 yrs decided I was gonna traded for a Durango R/T cause I wanted one. Lol. Anyway went to dealer to check the Durangos and ended getting a SP instead but to my luck the car broke down same day. Brand new. So after almost 3 weeks finally got it back and all I can say is WOW!!

I was looking for a while online. Couldn't find what I wanted locally. I found one in Texas and went back and fortht with them for a while. Pictures and videos etc. I was reluctant to buy so far away (1150 miles).. I was pretty much sold but told the salesman I had to sleep on it. I woke up and told my wife if I can get a ticket to Texas right now I am going. I looked online. 5 tickets left and 2.5 hours till the flight (Ohare is an hour from me) Booked it and called a cab made the flight and well the rest is history..... The drive home was AWESOME

My hubby was on my butt about getting a newer car, after months of it, I told him fine, then this is what I want. Took him to the dealer and pointed out a red challenger. That is what I want, I want it in orange, I want a shaker, I want leather with the orange shaker on the seat and it at least has to have an engine to go with it. 3 weeks later he calls me at work and goes, we are taking a ride tonight, no questions asked. 1 and a half hours we pull into a gas station, came around the corner and there she was. Everything I wanted. #1249 of the 2000 made. I could not believe that he did this for me.

I love this thread, I could read it all day.

I bought mine a little over three years ago. I fell in love with the Challenger long before that, when they came out again in 2008 or so. I just couldn't justify it. I was living in DC and had no garage and the traffic was horrendous so I always bought practical cars.

In 2013 I moved back to upstate NY and this really rebooted my life. I lost started working out and eating better and started losing weight. I told my self if I lost 75 lbs I would let myself think about buying a Challenger. I put in the work and lost the weight. I also saved a lot of money and had a decent trade in (2011 Nissan Juke).

At this point I was thinking about two cars, a Challenger or a Mitsubishi Evolution. I really like the look the Evo, and the AWD was a great selling point. Plus the speed. My plan was to test drive one of each. I called the Evo dealership and made an appointment. I went there and waited. The designated sales dude was busy. No one else offered to help. I sat and waited patiently for an hour. I left. One dude tried to stop me, I told him he was too late.

I really wanted a black or dark grey challenger. My only two must haves where Manual and V8. The best priced one in the area was plum crazy one, about an hour away. I drove there first with no call, just to look at the Plum Crazy in person. It was beautiful I fell in love. Made an appointment to drive it 2 days later. I drove it, traded in the Juke and never looked back. On the way home I got an energetic thumbs up from a homeless looking guy.

I love this car. I get compliments on it almost all the time. It's not just a car. It has helped me break loose of my shell a bit.

My Girlfriend is a bit jealous.

I went on Crystal Dealership in Brooksville web site.Looking for the address so I can buy some new key fobs for my 06 Magnum. For the hell of it I decided to see what they had on the lot.I started looking for a Challenger but even now I dont know why.I have always liked them and IMO its the closest new muscle car to still keep the classic looks of the first one. They had a Tored 2013 Challenger Core SRT8 for sale. The price tag was $38,000 with 4600 miles. In my mind I didnt think I could afford it.So the next few days I did a net search of what I thought I could buy.Figured out my max price would be $26,000 with around 30,000 to 50,000 miles.Every one I saw was either to expensive with low miles or less with to many.Found one in Orlando but a lady beat me to it.I finally found 2 at the same dealership in Hollywood Florida but they really were not at all nice to me but I was going to go down anyway to check them out.A friend mentioned that dealers sometimes send out cars to other dealerships and suggested I ask at the Crystal Dealer.I drove down there after the gym since its only 10 mins from there.I pulled in the parking lot as I was walking to the door a guy came up told me his name was Sal and asked if he could help me.Told him about the cars I found and about having one shipped. He told me he has some on the lot that I might like.He points out to the same SRT8 I saw yesterday while I was looking at it a older guy rode by on a bike and yelled buy it you know you want to ..I looked at it and fell in love....went inside he told me he should be able to work something out and get me behind the wheel. He then said lets take a drive...I then told him does he have a road of some twistys and where I could open it up as the main road was way to busy to do that,He drove to a street that was behind the shop.Pulled over and I got behind the wheel. Now I had not drove a 6 speed since I sold my 2002 WS6 Trans Am in 2011 but I had no issues with it.When we got back after the ride I was smiling like I had not done in a long time.Long story short we did all the paper work we could do there..still didnt know if my trade in and $2000 down would drop my payments down where I could afford it.I left to go to the doc took a shower and ate.Made it back to the dealership and 3 hours later I was leaving behind the wheel of my vary own Challenger SRT8!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome! Congrats on getting that SRT8. By the way, how much off that 38,000 did they take off?
