have 2400 miles on my new challenger 5.7...sounds like it has a slight lifter tick and seemed a little worse tonight after a hard couple stoplight launches...is this motor naturally noisy or is there an issue with these stupid lifters?

It's the dreaded "hemi tick". Lots of info on it. Just use the search feature and enter "hemi tick".

I had it with my 5.7 and it's even louder on my 392, like Oilslick said do a search and you will find plenty of Hemi Tick reading.

Don't let the dealer or anyone else tell you it's "normal." It's not, I have never had a peep from mine. Have it checked out.

I had the same thing with my 2014 High Octane Red at 286 miles and it turned into a collapsed lifter that had to be replaced...was a factory defect....repaired under warranty of course....

only happens after fully warmed up...i think it's a lifter because i can hear it in the exhaust note at idle....damn!
