Well, I picked up my Redline Red 15 Scat Pack last Monday evening with 4 miles on the clock. as of this morning on the way to work, showing 350 miles. I guess it is time for some first impressions. I am one of the cautious types who is doing their best to follow the factory break in procedure, so no big acceleration runs to brag about, but there is plenty to like about this car even when not abusing the gas pedal. As the manual says, I am exercising the RPM ranges, but no W.O.T. or harsh acceleration. Before purchasing I joined this forum and did some research, and specifically read the thread "what DON'T you like about your Challenger". It gave me some good insight as to what to look for, and I have to say, I am impressed with the way Chrysler listened to their customers. A lot of what I read was Bad turn signal placement in cluster, no back up camera, no blind spot assistance, having a hood prop rod instead of lift struts, and various other interior complaints. All of which have been addressed on this car making it a very enjoyable vehicle to drive. It definitely fills a lane, but that doesn't bother me at all, and it rides so much better than the BMW 3 series I traded out of. Also a main complaint was the sound, and boy is that not an issue with this car. For a factory exhaust system, I would say it is almost perfect. I have had some loud cars in the past, my Durango with Flowmasters was pretty d**n obnoxious, but this is a nice bark at ignition, followed by a nice rumble at idle, and gets downright throaty under acceleration. Even slightly drones at certain RPMs, but can be quickly fixed with an upshift. This is the first car I have owned (and I have owned 45+) that I haven't thought I needed to replace the exhaust. The fit and finish is great, the interior is one of the best I have seen. I work for a Ford dealership, and was seriously considering a new Mustang GT, and in my opinion, the Challenger's interior is every bit as good, if not better. I could probably ramble on a bit more, but I don't want this to get too long winded. In another 150+ miles when I can play with the full performance potential, I will post some more impressions.

By the way the Redline Red is possibly the only color that could have got me off a black one if it were available when I bought mine but it wasn't and i didn't know it was coming. I still love the black but it is a pain to keep clean.

A little perhaps, but my company does own a dodge dealer as well, so technically I bought a company product, just not the one I work for.

Thanks all for the kind words. looking forward to some more athletic driving in the near future.

Congrats on your new SP. I am well over the 500 miles now, actually closing in on 800. Not in a hurry to overwork my new baby, but the weather hasn't cooperated lately anyway. Gotta love winter in the northeast. I have had a few short pulls on deserted back roads. nothing crazy, never getting into triple digits or anything, and it is amazing how this car pulls. Can always break them loose through the shift into 3rd, and managed the 3-4 shift once. Not sure when I can get to a track for "official" measurements, but I have access to a few places I can safely get onboard performance pages numbers for comparison sake. One quick note one the 6spd. it is amazing that it feels kinda notchy and clunky in daily driving at times (stuck in stop and go traffic), but when exercised "athletically" it never gives me any issues. none of the 1-2 shift issues I have read so much about, the shifts happen so naturally and easily, I am in 4th at questionable speeds before I realize it, no thought required.
