guys im a rook on cars ...

Are wider tires better for traction, and won't spin as much as thinner tires?

Are usually the smaller Tread wear , usually better on traction and get worn out quicker ?

I currently have 245 / 45 ZR / 20 factory on my challenger .

Not sure which of these tires i should go with ...

Mickey Thompson Street Comp 245/45R 20
vs
Nitto NT05 255/45R 20

Ok depends on snow and Ice and wet roads yes narrow tires cut through and provive better traction.
Dry pavement Wider contact path tire work get more traction.

I run 295/40/20's on the rear of mine 12.3 inches wide .

Aslo you might consider tire wear rating higher 400 means Harder but more mile per tire lower 200 softer and will wear faster.

I would go with the MT Street Comps and put 275/40/20's on the rear and 245/45/20's on the front.

Thanks Kilo.. The tires will be on dry pavement , and i was informed since my wheel diameter is 8" , i couldnt go any wider than 255 .

Since you have 295 on yours and 20 inch wheel , how are you able to put on that wide ?

I run 20x9.5 's , Ditto what Oilslick stated GO 275/40/20's on the 8" wheels trust me they fit well :smileup: Until I changed to this set up that is what I ran.

275's on 20x8" wheels

are you guys sure that even if my rim width is 8 " , and i currently running OEM 245 / 45/ 20 , that i can put on 275 / 40 / 20 that should be on 9.5" rim?

Also Kilo - Did you upgrade your rims from 8" to 9.5" ?

awesome , u got MT's ? Are they better than Nitto ? How many miles on the MT's before they get worn out ? I guess that depends on our driving

I love the look but am with Amil. Although a 275 will fit on the 20x8 it's not safe. The wall of the tire isnt made to stretch that much. Especially for people that drive fast n hard. Amil has a SC. The widest I would run on the stock 20x8 is a 265. Pirelli PZero comes in a 265/45/20 for the front. I personally would stagger the front tires to retain that retro stance. Not knocking ya Kilo. Just my 2 cents about safe tires. But like I said. It looks sick as hell.

guys are these type of tires listed as sticky tires ?

Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 305/35/20 ?

I currently have the MIckey Thompson 275/40/20 sitting in my garage and just ordered some 20x10 wheels for the back.

Trying to figure out which will have more traction and less spin when i accelerate.

How do you determine which tires are listed as sticky ?
