275 will fit as long as the off-set on the wheel is correct up front. Can't answer the 555g2 question, haven't ran them.

Might want to "fit check" the wheel before you have rubber mounted on them. :)

A 315 is too wide for a 9.5" rim. Every tire manufacturer's website has charts showing the minimum and maximum rim widths for each tire size.

Yeah, and those same websites say a 275/40 is too wide for a 9.5" rim too.....but many of us have them from the factory.

I don't know what you're talking about, Pirelli says 9" to 11" for a 275/40.

Well, when I was looking at tires a month or so back, almost every site said a 275 wouldn't work on a 9.5" rim...need a 10" rim.

And even just now, googling the recommended tire width for a 275 tire shows 10".

All boils down to what the shop will mount....9"-10" I could see...but 11"....that would stretch the sidewall out too much I'd think.

I have been running 275s (555G2s) on 9.5 and 9.0 wheels.... and the tires were installed at Discount Tire. never any issues, however offsets might be the difference... not all wheels are created equal... as far drivability.... they are great... 20200510_150340.jpg

275/40-20 is fine on a 9.5” wide rim, it’s what comes stock on a normal body Hellcat. I run the 275/40-20 555G2’s up front with 555R2’s 315/30-20’s on 11” wide rims out back. I run my car hard, like 150 every time it’s out, 180 here and there, and 200 a few times a year. Haven’t had a steering problem yet :)

What every site? Go directly to the site of the tire manufacturer. They're the ones that know.

Mike383,

I just put the same Nitto 555G2s on all four corners of my 1320 Challenger. The 275 up front fits fine on the + 18 rims that are 9.5 just as the stock Nexen drag radials did. The rears are 315s on 10.5 rims and I had to heat and bend the inner wheel well plastic for clearance. I have only had them on there for 200 miles and they ride and steer fine, but cant give you any more feedback than that. I do know the rears will spin through second gear and get the rear end sideways when it shifts into third which is a little scary. The stock Nexen Drag radials on the rear grip much better on the same urban asphalt. I have had neither set on the dragstrip so cant give you that feedback. I think youll be fine for fitment.
