Good afternoon all, I just purchased a 2018 Challenger SXT and also ordered the Trackhawk exhaust tips to have installed before I pick the car up. The Dodge dealership just advised me that the tips have arrived but they aren’t compatible with the car. My understanding is that they should just bolt on the same way as the OEM tips. Is there a difference between the mounts for the SXT versus the R/T and higher trim levels? Thanks in advance.

Yes there is, the SXT tips do not connect to the exhaust pipe, they are just trim pieces mounted to the valance.

Thanks any idea how difficult it would be for a muffler shop to install the Trackhawk tips on my SXT? I’d imagine it would involve a bit of cutting and welding. I really like the tips though so I’d like to make it work. Thanks

A good shop will rip the goofy exhaust tips off the valance and then spot weld the new tips to the pipes. problem solved. It ain't rocket science.

I would return the Trackhawk tips and get another set since they have to be welded on. You can find other tips that are much cheaper but then you have to pay a muffler shop to weld them on. Probably still cheaper than the Trackhawks were. The only reason i got the Trackhawks was because they bolted right on to my resonators and it was hard to find shorts ones that didnt stick out a lot......but they are out there.

Dont know if you would have that problem with yours.
