Anyone subscribe to either of these services?
Just curious as to what the Uconnect system is like. I have not even taken advantage of a free trial they gave me simply cause I do not see a need to pay for it when I'm done.
Plus I'm curious since you use your email & all, when you get ready to sell this car, how do you detach all your "info" from it ya know. That's been a back of my mind reason.
Side not question is there a way to rename your Uconnect system that shows up in Bluetooth?

If you like satellite radio, then subscribe. The thing is, they will bug you to death when renewal comes up, if you change your mind and want to unsubscribe. Don't give them your credit card info. Pay by check!
You brought up something that I never considered. If you sell your car, any info on the hard drive stays with the car???? I haven't put anything on mine except a few pictures. Guess I will leave it that way.

You can delete your music and photo files from the older Challengers.
The newer ones do not have hard drives...its Bluetooth and SD cards

MommaBetty is correct! Pay by check!! If you use a credit card, they will auto renew on you!

One Time Use Virtual Credit Card Number

Look into this if your not familiar.

A controlled payment number, also called by generic names "substitute credit card number", "one-time use credit card", "disposable credit card" and "virtual credit card number", or "Virtual Card Numbers (VCN)" is an alias for a credit card number. It is generated through YOUR BANK, interacting with the card issuer's computer, and is linked to the actual credit card number.

This "alias" number is indistinguishable from an ordinary credit card number, and the user's actual credit card number is never revealed to the merchant.

Beware Sirius! They will offer to renew your subscription for what will seem like a great deal ($30 for six months), but what they don't tell you is that you will be receiving a crippled version of their selection. I found this out the hard way when I tried to listen to NFL games last season and found out all of the NFL channels that air each game matchup were no longer available.

I saw in the 8.4n menu there is an option to delete all info if you have that radio. As for Sirius, if you do decide to subscribe, I do have one tip. I have had it for 7 or 8 years, even if you do want it, let the initial subscription expire. within days, as everyone says above, you will be contacted with "special offers" usually around $80 a year, which is way less than their usual price. but I usually hold out and they offer 6 months for $25. for $50 a year I think it is worth it for me. some people don't like or use it, but I use it %90 of the time I am in the car.

When you say new, are you referring to 2015 models? My 2014 Challenger has a hard drive. I also had no problem pairing my blackberry to the uconnect phone.

I have Sirius in the Challenger and Sirius/XM on a portable (as a lifetime user)

With the U-Connect, you are going to need the map data that Sirius provides for updates.

Pros: Affordable if you negotiate with them, lots of channels, sports on the road, song/artist data and holiday songs.

Cons: Customer service is about as bad as its going to get, they will ding your CC if you put it on file without your permission, quality is not as good as CD.

Actually from what I understand the 8.4a and 8.4an are hard drive based (maybe flash based storage), the a is 8 gig and the n is 16 gig to give room for the 3D maps. BUT, you are correct that none of it is able to store music files, just on external memory. the internal is locked for use of features and maps and room for updates to run.

Is the uconnect phone part of the sirius radio? In other words, I'm on a free one year subscription to sirius, will I have to subscribe to sirius to be able to use my uconnect phone?

I assume you are talking about the bluetooth connection for the phone? That can be set up at the dealer when you buy the car, or you can do it yourself. That has nothing to do with the satellite radio service.

Yes, that's exactly what I was talking about. I had no trouble setting up the bluetooth connection, good to know I can keep it!

Thanks Momma!

I love Sirius Radio. 70's on 7, Outlaw Country on channel 60. I got the years free trial when I bought the car and use it all the time. They even have Fox News on there. I will definitely renew; I hear it's about 90 bucks a year. Well worth it for me.
