From a woman's perspective, that was difficult to watch. Even more disgusting is the fact that the driver did this in front of his daughter.

I cannot say what I would like to say about that video, fore I know I would be banned from this forum.

"He had no weapon, therefore, he posed no threat".
Yeah, right.

Disgusting!

As you likely know, the officer MAY have made a couple tatctical errors. I have a Niece who has been an officer for 18 years. She's had more fights than most men in her agency, because she's female. What they don't know is, despite being only 110 pounds, she holds a Black Belt in Karate and is most effective in her talents.
Yes, the guy deserves the maximum penalties. He's disgusting!

It doesn't matter what type of defensive training you have received. Whenever a large person gets a free shot directly into the opponents face, the fight is usually pretty much over. Notice that the suspect also took the officer's firearm after the altercation. One mistake that many female officers make is that they assume that suspects will not harm them because of their gender. Sadly, nothing is further from the truth. The suspect himself tells her that he is sorry but that he is not going back to jail, I also wonder if the officer ever went back to "street" or was given an inside job somewhere. I have seen this in my own department; moreover, this problem is excentuated since departments have gotten away from the minimum height and weight requirements. Our department has had to fail frmale recruits from the firearms program and, when asked by members of the Command Staff what could be done to help the recruit, the firearms staff usually replies with something like "hire recruits strong enough to hold the firearm long enough to lesrn to shoot it."

Fred, well said. I can't understand any female that would want to become a police officer and not have enough strength to fire a gun. I have very small wrists, but with weight training I still can lift a fairly heavy object. Physical fitness would be extremely important in your line of work.

I have wanted to post this, and now this seems like the appropriate time and place. Yesterday morning at 5:30 a.m. a local town police officer arrested a young man on an outstanding warrant. After he was cuffed and placed in the patrol car, he kicked out a window and escaped! I know he wasn't reported as being found yet, so I can't believe he could get away. How is that possible?? The local town cops may not be trained adequately, or else how could this happen? I hope more details will come out. This is in a small town of about 1,200 people.

I agree Fred.

Our agency fails more females in our firearms training every year because of that. Also because they don't know what to do in a case of firearm malfunction or emergency reloading procedures. When a gun malfunctions for them, they always look back at the instructors for help. My response to them is...if that happens to you in the field, will an instructor be there to help you?

IMO, most females shouldn't be working in a men's prison either. They are mostly a liability to us. :shakehead:

Agree John, especially in a high security lock up, I might be called a narsasist for saying that I just can't see a woman walking around in a place like that with no means to defend herself. :shakehead: it seems like a recipe for a disaster.

It is! And when an inmate with 25+ years to go starts whacking off to them, the female officer wonders why. Duh!

Yep!

Also, many years ago I worked in a county prison that had women inmates. They were worse than the guys! They would either make false accusations on male staff or walk around naked in their cell trying to get a male staff jammed up. Way too needy for my comfort too.
