is definently worth it both are v6 but i think they re-amp this engine.. my 0-60 in the 2013 best time was 6.7...in the 2015 its 5.8 i think the sport mode and traction buttons add ons this yr to base models played a effect also plus 160 on the speedometer beats 140 any day

Looking good! Enjoy!

I think the big thing in performance is the 8 speed Auto!

I really like the looks of the 2015, and love the changes to the interior. When my lease is up I'm going to be torn. Love my SXT, but really miss the sound of the V8 more then anything else and was convinced I'd step up to an RT. But I know these gas prices aren't going to last forever. 16 months or so to figure it out I guess.

oh yeah, I like the 2015s but I love my RT only put 30,000 on her and I have her a year and half now. I dont think I am ready to part ways yet, plus I will have to get a new ATAK lol.

How does the 8-speed transmission behave compared to the 5? I really enjoy the 5 speed in my '11 SE, and my experience with 6+ speed autos is a metric sh!t-ton of hunting for the right gear, and never quite finding it.

Drove a '15 Chrysler 200 as a loaner with the same 3.6L Pentastar, and it's 6+ speed tranny (cannot remember the actual number of gears, and of course it was FWD) never could figure out what I wanted it to do... Have they actually sorted that out with the 8 in the Challenger?

I have a 2015 SXT Plus. Not familiar with the old 5 Speed Auto, but the 8 Speed in my Challenger is awesome, especially in Sport Mode. Very crisp shifts and when you brake you can feel the Transmission downshifting, just like using Manual Mode or Paddle Shifters. Not harsh drops, but crisp. Never experienced that in an Automatic before.

Another upside is Highway Mileage. When you're doing 70 MPH in 8th Gear, you're running around 1800 RPM. In "mixed" Highway driving, on and off stop and go Traffic, then spurts to 80MPH (or so - LOL) driving to Vegas last week I got 24 MPG.

I agree the 8 speed is awesome. I had the Chrysler 200 with the 6 speed which was nice, but hunted a little especially on cruise control in the mountains...this 8 speed is dialed in. I will get a consistent 30+mpg at 75 mph. Above 80 the mileage starts to drop off.

Passing is down right fun. I can blow past slower cars jumping from 60 to 90 in no time...it's really impressive. Not a V8 but I bought a V6 and it exceeds all my expectations.

Never drove the 5 speed.

We had the 5 speed in my wife's old Charger, it was a nice solid trans. Nothing spectacular but wasn't hunting for gears or acting goofy either. It did the job nicely.

My wife's new 300 has the 8 speed auto and that trans is really nice! Never really feel it hunting for gears, shifts quietly and smoothly, but when you step on it it finds the right gear fast and you're gone. Definitely an awesome trans!

With a 0-60 of under 6 seconds, and great gas mileage, it is really hard to make a case for a Hemi at $4500 more. I've always wanted a Hemi car, but knowing that gasoline is not gonna stay under 3 bucks forever makes me think the V6 /8-speed is that way to go.

Does DiabloSport and Hemifever have a tuner for the 2015 V6 yet?

Don't think tuning is available for the 2015's yet. Usually takes them a little while to crack the code and then get things sorted out to release the tunes, etc. I would check with Sean directly at Hemifever just to be sure though.

I have a 2014 SXT 100 anniversary edition with the 5 speed auto.
I also ran a 5.84sec 0 to 60 in regular mode.
My car has the 3.07 rear which is what I believe is the difference in acceleration
between SXT's. I really prefer the 5 speed only because I love the Auto stick.
And can't imagine shifting through 8 gears.

Yours isn't totally stock is it? Don't see how it could be with that time, that's VERY close to 5.7 Hemi times.

I have the same gearing on my V6 Rallye Redline and the best I've seen 0-60 is 6.6 secs.

My 2015 sxt with the 8 speed is very smooth, and I really like the fuel mileage as I am currently getting 23.4 driving mixed back and forth to work (40 mile round trip). The auto stick really helps but I would really like to firm up the shifts a bit. Only time I drove the 5sp. was when I was test driving and it was firmer shifts but really wasn't any comparison for my use.

Engine is the same, it's the new 8 speed tranny.

What I like is that with the new 8 speed tranny a 5.7 R/T gets as good MPG as a 3.6 with the old 5 speed!!

I think it has to do with the rear, I have the 3.08 gears. My worst run was 6.49
when it was new. I now have around 4k miles and ran a 5.84. only mod is
the Mopar CAI. Another factor is that there is only one shift that occurs on
the 5 speed in the 0 to 60 run. That may also help. Also averaging around 23mpg in mixed driving.

Look at my photo album I posted a picture of it on there.
Only mod is the Mopar CAI.

Also it was an extremely cold morning, literally 10 degrees, which does add some HP.
Plus how accurate are these 0 to 60 timers? My average times are usually 6.2 sec.

With the Rallye Redline package I have the same gearing as you........yours is probably just a little faster, some cars are a little faster others a little slower.
