I posted in the audio/video section, but no info.

I'm trying to find out if its possible to play video in the new Challenger 8.4 display.

I take long trips and its nice to listen to comedy DVDs and certain movies. No...I don't watch them....I like just listening to them.

I know there is no disc play, but was wondering if ripped DVD/BR will play off a thumbdrive or portable USB hard drive.

As far as I know you can't watch any kind of video on the 8.4 systems unless it came with a factory DVD system, I don't think this is available in Challengers yet.

Went and tested it out for myself. Couple different video formats. Not recognized.

I know all it takes is a firmware update, but it sounds like something that will have to be done aftermarket and who knows what problems that could cause due to the massive integration of the head unit to the various devices on the car.

So......at least I found out what a Scat Pack feels like to sit in with the leather package and sunroof......(seems to be a bit more head room in the '15 vs the '11)
