I knew a guy that would put a handful of acorns behind his fuel door on his chevy truck. In the morning when he got ready to leave, if any acorns were on the floor, he knew someone stole his gas. Or attempted to anyway.He also scattered baby powder around the truck to show any footprints.
We thought he was "kind of special" lol

If the ignition switch is disabled the jumper wont do anything. I worked in Auto Theft for many years. Car theives are in and out.

They dont search cars for kill switches. That just doesnt happen..... Most of the time it will be at night and finding a kill switch at night is nearly impossible!

I would interview every car thief I arrested (Not as evidence, just to educate myself cause most were juvi's and we cant interogate them but we can talk to them) and I would also ask how many times they got into a car and it simply wouldnt start and they would say almost never. I asked what happens if it doesnt start? Do u search the car for kill switches? Their answer? "Nah, we bounce".

Remember, most car theives are NOT professionals they are juvi's.... Yep, they can learn really quick but they aint rocket scientists and aint pulling the dash apart looking for kill switches that just doent happen.

Thanks for the info, gives me a little more confidence in the Tazer pin lock. Although the engine will start the vehicle won't move until 1)pin is entered, 2) pin is changed, reset, and entered, or 3) Tazer is found and unplugged. In any case it would require some knowledge about Tazer to defeat it. That eliminates a lot of thieves. But, if they want it bad enough they will just drag it away.

That's because you don't understand how squirrels operate. They work in crews. One crew ransacks your fuel door acorns to draw you away from the house, the 2nd crew waits for you to get your mail and goes into your unlocked house to boost the bag of remaining acorns. After all, they're really just thug rats with fluffy tails.

So what anti theft measures have you taken to ensure your car isnt stolen? Exactly...... NONE! Bro, 99% of these cars are being DRIVEN away.....

A kill switch alone would not have done anything huh? Acquire some common sense bro...... The FACT is 99% of those cars would have NEVER been stolen with a simple kill switch.

My assertion, which I stand by is that a kill switch, by itself, is not going to be an effective anti-theft deterrent because most of the time these cars aren't being driven away. A kill switch is fine as one of several anti-theft methods but shouldn't be relied upon as a single point of defense.
