I have searched and searched and can't find a yes or no to this question.

I see the srt8 has a 220 amp alt and the sxt has a 160 amp. Seeing them side by side, obviously the 220 amp model looks a lot bigger but the mounts seem the same as far as bolt hole location goes. The mounts on the 220 amp are also a lot longer, but that might be fixed with just using a longer bolt.

Having the classic alternator problems with a new to me 2013 sxt with 11k on it and I have not received a recall yet. Even if I got the notice I know they don't even have the replacements so it wouldn't matter anyways.

When I'm at idle and turn the wheel the headlights dim like crazy and you can hear the heater blower bog out. Put my meter on it and at idle when turning the wheel, volts drop from 14.1 or so down to the middle 12's which is pretty bad. I'm wondering if I can put the 220 amp alternator on since there doesn't seem to be an issue with those.

You don't expect to have this kinda problem with a 1 year old car that has 11,000 miles on it. :(

We've already inquired as to the information you're seeking. The answer is "NO".

The recall notices were sent out two weeks ago.

While my car was built after the recall time window (4/2014) I have had the headlight dimming at idle issue since day one. From everything I have read this is unfortunately considered "normal" by Chrysler and not connected to the recall. So far, this has been my only complaint with the car.

I believe the 180 amp alternator will fit. See if one of your local auto parts stores carries both, for comparison. My 2010 R/T came with the 160 amp (no heated seats). I believe you got the 180 amp alternator with the heated seat option.-:4-dontknow: I'm sure one of the other members will chime in to verify theirs. My 2008 Charger R/T had a 180 amp (it did have heated seats).

The 160 amp alternator is OEM with the 'heated seats' > 2013 Dodge Challenger Sxt Plus.
