Ricky's dad, Rick, gives him the gift of a lifetime: a 1970 Dodge Charger R/T. The story is featured in the YouTube show Hot Rod Hunt in which Rick Moore, Chris Quintillian, and his father Kenny Quintillani travel around the Western US in search of hot rods to purchase and restore.
In this particular episode, Ricky gets to purchase his dream car. They meet the seller (Rick Moore's friend) who directs them to a barn. Much to their surprise, the car cranks up upon installing a new battery. The owner mentions the low mileage because he bought the car in '73 with the sole purpose of drag racing, so this car has truly lived life "1/4 mile at a time."
The build sheet reads a 1970 Charger R/T with 440 mated to a TorqueFlite auto with cloth interior and vinyl roof. Not a bad setup for a kid that's 13 years old.
