I've got two; one is not mine. Was parked at a hotel over the weekend with my R/T. Another R/T (blue) pulls up and owner and wife get out to admire my car. So I walk out and start talking to them. The man told me that someone was looking at his car recently (car is only 1 month old) and walked right into a pole!

My story - We test drove a very base model SE; silver, nice but base wheels and no decals. Anyway, we were on the highway for an extended test drive and a guy pulls up next to us doing 75-80 and wants my wife to roll down the window. He shouts, "How much?"

Since I've had my R/T, I don't think a day goes by that someone doesn't give me the thumbs up on the road or stops me in a parking lot to compliment me. If you want attention - this is the car!
That is pretty good. I get thumbs up on the hwy and around town. One Vette wanted to race..NO. Best looking car on the road in my humble opinion.

We stopped at Home Depot (I prefer them over woke Lowe’s) and as we got out a young guy wrangling carts was staring at our car. He shouts out: “I love it! And, that shade of green is my favorite color!” Always good to get compliments about your car!

Occasionally when I drive VIOLEnT to work I get comments or questions about this or that. It's a nice feeling. This morning an older feller at work who parks beside me said "When I was backing out of my space yesterday and you started your car, I said 'What in the world is falling off of my car?' then I realized that you had started yours." I laughed, and he said " I mean, your exhaust was actually shaking my whole car!"
I really didn't think it was that loud... he drives a Chevy Cruze. :devilish::ROFLMAO:

We have so many Challengers around our area now that they are becoming a dime a dozen and if you don't do something to personalize it as your own, it just blends in the crowd. We took a ride yesterday in Black Beauty and decided to stop by the dealership that we bought Lynda's GT from, just to visit and see what they had on the lot. When we pulled up to park one of the new salesmen jumped up sitting out front and came over as we were getting out and said, Now that is one sharp looking Challenger! Thanked him for his compliment and considered messing with him and asking what they would give me for it, but didn't.

One of the salesmen that we know would have told him forget it, you won't get that car we've tried. They only had one new Challenger it was ordered and waiting to be picked up, a Cinnamon Stick colored G/T Plus, nice looking color! Their inventory was really low, the last time we visited they had about 6 new Challengers on the lot. Three of the salesmen were GooGoo eying ours, asking what all had been done to it, in most situations that information would be used against you if you did consider selling it to devalue it.

It was kinda nice though for it to attract attention with all the Challengers out there now. We had a great ride through mostly the country side but there were many LEOs out there yesterday so we basically took the Interstate back home. Ry

Edit: Almost forgot one asked me about the 5.7L HEMI on the fender where the Challenger Script used to be, that has been on there so long now I really don't give it a thought but he was really liking it. Plus another was inquiring where I got the rear slim fender flares from, he was really liking those.

In my neighborhood there are quite a few young kids. Yesterday I was washing my car and a father and his son stopped to look at my car. The kid tells his dad that he wants to buy him a car like mine. He then asked if he could hear it. I was more then willing to fire it up. The dad said "ohh come on man don't do this to me" LOL I fired it up and the kids smile went ear to ear!!!

That same day had a guy in a truck behind me honk and yell MORPAR or no CAR!! I put my foot in it and he went NUTS.. it was awesome.

I don’t have a great gawker story for my 2022 year. I just drove it home yesterday.

‘I had a ton of positive gawkers when I first got my R/T in 2008. They were so few and far between then it made quite the splash.

But my goofiest gawker story was when I came out of the gas station after filling and had taken the kids in to get Icees.

I was about 40 when I bought my ‘09 in September 2008. The kind of 40 that looks 30. Plus I didn’t start having kids until 30 so filling every seat spot with little kids also added to youngish look.

There was a caricature mid 60s year old looking Boomer with receded hairline, white hair, jean shorts, and white new balance Velcro sneakers walking around it. And a corvette t-shirt.
‘He said- “That’s not a real Challenger.”
I said- it’s one of the new ones.
‘He said- “pffft, what’s it do the quarter mile in? Now there’s a car that will spank it in the quarter mile.”
‘just real dick move grumpy old man stuff in front of a Dad with a pack of little kids.

while pointed over at an admittedly spotless and shiny but over a dozen year old C4.
it Was not a ZR1. Meaning it had less HP and the same or worse 1/4 mile time.
why he was stomping around huffing and puffing about it not being a real Challenger and being slow I don’t know. His car was too old and not old enough to be cool, he really thought it was much faster, the woman in the passenger seat really liked the Challenger, and it ticked him off, I don’t know.

I laughed real loud and said
I can move five people a quarter mile a lot faster than you, and tie or beat you anyway.

Haven't got to drive my Scat in almost two weeks, just bad weather and lots of stuff going on. But the last time I drove it on April 18, I stopped at a farm supply store, wanted to get some greenhouse plants. A couple of young guys (in their 20's) started gawking at it as I was walking to the greenhouse. They asked about the engine and were very complimentary! Always brings me a smile when young people love the car. Get this a lot at the gas station/convenience stores....even though the new generation challenger has been around for 14 years.

since I bought my car I’ve had over a dozen comments about my car the most recent was the last few, I was stopped and taking a left onto a street leading up to my house and a guy in a suv rolled his window down and honked and gave me the thumbs up and said great car, and another was at a gasoline dock entrance the guy came down and said I noticed your car last week and I absolutely love it and we chatted a bit about the car. Honestly never got so many compliments and steers for my car in my life. Oh yea last week I was checking in at Massport ( a cruise ship dock, they aslo own Logan airport and a cargo dock ) the Massport cop and the state trooper with his dog was there and both were saying wow this car is amazing and joked they were going to steal it lol. Later that day my brother checks in and that same cop was reading a car magazine with the challenger on the cover and said to him your brothers car is amazing I wish I could get one lol. Maybe his wife won’t let him because they definitely make enough money to buy one.

Heard more times than I remember: "Where did you get those wheels?!"

"They're factory."

"No way!"

I guess people really haven't been paying attention for the last 12 years.

I'm up in Vancouver (the small town along the Columbia River in southern Washington state, not the big sexy city in British Columbia, Canada) this week to look at houses and get a feel for whether I can acclimate to living in the PNW after a lifetime in SoCal (I've got a whole thread I'm going to post on this next year because I'm really indecisive and I'm going to need input from the forum LOL).

I met with a realtor yesterday with whom I have been communicating since March He knows I'm not buying for another year, but was cool with showing me some houses currently for sale so I could get a feel for typical homes here other than viewing online listings. Two of the houses were disappointments, the third rocked.

My realtor noticed I wanted to see the garage within minutes of entering each house and by the time we started on the 3rd house, asked if I had a high end car. I told him I had a Hellcat and suddenly I was a rock star. He knew the basics (700 HP, Dodge muscle) and for the first time I saw him actually jot down notes that the garage space was one of my deal breakers. I shared a joke with him that I first told Sweden (Bjorn) when he was buying a house last year: I'm really looking for a well appointed garage, but I'll also have a look at the attached house. LOL!

The other day I’m on the Tobin bridge stuck in traffic heading to Boston and a I’m guessing early twenties guy pulled up next to me on his Nissan altima and rolled his window down yelling dude nice f***ing car, I roll my window down and hey what’s up? He goes dude nice f****ing car man that things a beast I said thanks it’s pretty fast and he pulls away screaming that’s a f***ing beast!! Lol All the attention so far has been from men no women except one time a girl was driving a Challenger rt and honked and gave me the peace sign. I swear if I was gay I’d be in heaven lol

When I bought my rescue Hellcat in Murrieta (Southern California) last year, the dealership told me a local cop was also interested after convincing his wife to let him buy it. I had been the first one to come in and test drive it so they wanted to offer it to me first. The story was total BS. I've bought enough cars to know that if a dealer has a definite sale in hand, he pulls the trigger regardless of who test drove it first. And if the cop wanted it more, why wouldn't he just offer an extra $500 for it and lock in the deal? Regardless, I wasn't going to risk losing the car even if my BS meters were clanging off the scale, so I made the joke that this was the last time I could drive my new-to-me Hellcat in Murrieta without risking a revenge traffic stop by the cop who lost out on the deal.

Might be time for a separate thread on this subject (Or maybe one already exists) but I agree. “Back in the Day” the first thing you did on a Day 2 muscle cars was a wheel swap. Hardly anything cool came from the factory. People today like the Ralley wheels because of nostalgia but they weren’t all that cool then. Some time in the past decade or so, wheels started getting much better looking - straight from the factory! My 2010 RT Classic has wheels that were so close to Cragar SS style, I ordered new center caps that said “Cragar SS” and that was all that was needed.

Last night one of the engineers from work text me asking what year my car is, and could I send him a picture of it, as he was telling another engineer about it. I sent them a handful of various pics. He later responded that the other engineer (who is a car guy and a good shade tree mechanic) "liked the car a lot!" Was a nice surprise to find out that others were randomly talking about my ride...
One of the techs at work was asking me about one of the vinyl sticker mods on the car, saying the last time I drove it to work she looked it over, searching for these words she heard about, but couldn't find the letters. I explained they were on the roof above the passenger door. (I replaced a section of one of the Shaker roof stripes with

First non LEO encounter in quite some time.
Scene was a 4 way Stop sign.
The guy adjacent to my right was turning left in a big Dodge truck pulling a bobcat. He stops in the middle of his turn, points to the car and yells out “ Now that’s a muscle car !”.
Put a smile on my face.

I’ve had so many encounters since my last post it’s like driving this car has made me a celeb or something lol. The most recent was two days ago with my buddy’s kid but the one before that was a week or so before from a stranger. I was stopped at a red light a guy and his son stopped next to me and the father started yelling out is that a widebody and got my attentio. He said that’s the meanest baddest challenger he’s ever seen and loves the black on black of my TA. He’s said my son loves challengers and started asking me some questions then the kid goes can you rev it of course as a gentlemen and being part of polite society I obliged and that kid and his fathers reaction was priceless. The kid went crazy with every rev wanting more, I think I brought a new challenger owner to our side when he gets older lol. Also the other day in South Boston a guy in a BMW m4 pointed to my car and gave me the thumbs up so that was nice. Our cars get so much attention I’m definitely going to get a beefy security system for it sooner or later. The uconnect guardian is nice and all but it takes too long to send you a notice if the car moves out of the geofencing area and the alarm system won’t even go off if the window breaks or if the car is lifted onto a tow truck
