Your fine at 7 quarts. Do Not over fill !

 

The extra oil cooler volume on the 6.4L & SRT cars is where the oil goes....

To be sure, only the dealer changes the oil so it is recorded.

 

Mine’s at the top. 3100 mi on oc.

 

changed my 2020 widebody 2 days ago, used Mopar MO-899 oil filter. 7 quarts Pennzoil 0W-40 ultra Platinum. it filled it to full fill line.

 

Did you check oil level on dip stick before the change? If it was between the lines or at the full mark from factory that is what I would copy. The SRT filter holds only a few ounces at most larger capacity.

 

If its in the middle of the safe zone thats good enough for me. I dont need it to the top. There is a zone for a reason. Maybe put on a Mopar filter or Wix next time if the SRT is bigger.

 

I’d fill it to the line but that’s just me, did you change it yourself or are you trusting the dealer?

 

The dealer changed it. Just kind of weird it's not all the way in the safe zone.

 

After adding 7 quarts and an SRT filter to mine, The oil is at the bottom of the safe zone. If I add 1/2 quart it puts it right in the middle. That's what I do. Does it make a difference either way? No. But I sleep better at night.

 

Sounds like yours is EXACTLY like mine. But, we should be at the top of the safe zone, with the 7 quarts, that's the point. Mine even had my dealer perplexed, because the tech new he put 7 quarts in. No one can tell me different, there were some definite issues with dip sticks being different, but Dodge would never admit it.
But, as long as we know we put 7 quarts in, I guess tha's all that matters.
