This old 355 is getting tired and will need replaced in the next 3 years... I'd love to put a 392 drivetrain in it, think that'd be wild but possibly taboooooo.
Am I crazy for wanting to put a Hemi in my El Camino?

Many years ago, my college boyfriend and I went to a Northeast Hemi Owners Assn meet somewhere in Massachusetts... The car that I still remember was the Corvette with a 440 Magnum....
If you got Numbers Matching id not do it.... For the cost and mods needed id not do it.
You would have to fab so much stuff for trans, drive shaft, Engine Mounts, Floor Board Mods Etc.,

Not sure if you can get this from Mopar but there are companies like Arrington that will give you everything you need for a nondirect replacement installation crate engine. You not only get the engine but also ECU, harness with sensors and fuel and electrical system parts upgrades.
My first vote would be LT4 but as I think about it, ya why not, a Hemi it is 👍
I had a ZZ572 in my 67 Elky, w/ Tremec TKO 5-Speed, & 12 bolt posi w/ 3.73 Gears. IT WAS INSANE (threw me around like rag doll, but A LOT of fun to drive LOL)....
