I am considering upgrading my front brakes to a big brake kit. Can I take my front brakes with the 13.6 inch rotors
(I believe that is the rotor size)
and bigger calipers and put them on the rear axles? I figure the OEM front brakes with larger rotors are much better than the oem rears and I could save a few bucks by not buying upgraded rear big brake kit as well. I have already upgraded to EPC racing stage 5 dimpled and slotted rotors with Yellowstuff street and track pads, so I think that my front rotors would do well as a rear setup when I upgrade the fronts. I guess I am just curious if the caliper will mount up properly? Anyone ever done this?
Yes, Yes, I know the right way to go would be a full front and read big brake kit or just the fronts, but I am just curious if anyone has done this. Thanks.
Our cars can do more than simply drive in a straight line. This is from the road course in Airway Heights, WA (still waiting with bated breath to hear if the track will reopen next year. Fingers crossed).

I swapped out all four rotors on my car and put new pads on. I can guarantee you that the front calipers will not work on the back. Plus in the old days building an old-school muscle car and changing from drums to discs required a new proportioning valve. Don't know if you would need to do something like this or not. I would just upgrade to the factory big brakes. That's what my car has now and they work awesome.
I know a few brands are offering big brakes kit for the Challenger now. Not really aware of the cost but i am pretty sure that's ain't cheap. Bear, Brembo, and maybe a few other.
I would be surprise if you can change the size of the rotors without changing the caliper brackets. Maybe some others who have done it will chime in.
I meant to take the front caliper brackets off and install them in place of the rears. I wonder if the two bolt holes line up and would fit properly if I completely switched them out with the whole apparatus from the front brakes. I agree, the front calipers would not fit in the rear caliper bracket. It is my understanding that a big brakes kit would not reuse the old front caliper bracket, so I would not be leaving it in place on the fronts anyways. I hope that makes sense.
