I have been thinking of doing this for a while. But i am thinking about taping her off and plasti dipping the lenses where the "bleed over" looks to be coming from. Will doing this cause any problems with the install? Will i be putting 3m tape on the plasti dip if I do that? I dont want to adhere the covers to the plasti dip. If you can get what I'm asking there.

How do your covers fit? I'm unhappy with the fit of mine. The contour is a little off.

a little extra tape in two areas helped,I ordered a roll of the 3m tape

I have tried both with no success. I guess they had too many complaints about the light leakage but it would appear that you can overcome it with tape.

I checked 3rd strike performance, they don't seem to have them anymore. These will give you a very similar look and hopefully fit better.

Thanks for trying - I saw these but I was trying to cover the back up light as well since mine is mostly black. I am about to buy some black tape and try that just to see.

As you can see, the fit is very poor, and it's not from the tape. Looks great from afar, but if you're showing, this wouldn't cut it.

Thank you for the pictures. I still think if I could get some tape or??? maybe they would be acceptable. I'm not showing mine any way.

Yep, unfortunately, even though these were re-designed quite a few times, they have never, ever fit perfect. It's just something you have to deal with. It bothered me too for a long time but there's really nothing you can do about it. I got mine from Steve White and they suggested putting extra 3M tape on the bottom for better adhesion, which worked, BUT it also made the fitment that much worse because of the extra tape. You can't win.
As far as the bleed though, mine had light leak mainly across the top. I plasti-dipped around the top to fix this and it took care of the light leak. Been fine for about a year. The smart thing to do would have been to do this before you put the overlays on, but i'm not that smart

im pretty sure every vendor has stopped selling these due to quality issues. You could try contacting Michigan Vehicle Solutions, they are the ones that have the molds and were the last company producing them. Maybe they have some laying around they will sell.
