Or sometimes when you find out that less is more for you personally. I chased horsepower on sport bikes and ended up deciding that a 600-750 cc bike was right for me and the roads available to me, there is fun in being able to really wring something out a bit.
My constant plug for the Miata, or my ongoing discussion with my boss about how his Turbo S is useless and he should buy a new 911T where he can actually use the floorboard under the gas pedal.

If you drive a Pentastar V6, do not drive a 5.7 hemi. If you drive a 5.7 hemi, do not drive a 392 hemi. If you drive a 392 hemi, do not drive a Hellcat. If you drive a Hellcat, do not drive a Hellcat Red Eye.
If you do this, you will be happy, and satisfied with what you have.
Sounds good, but it didn't work for me.

Do HC owners wish they had a Redeye?

Do Redeye owners wish they had a Demon?

Do Demon owners wish they had a 170?

Do 170 owners wish they had a NHRA Pro Stock car?

Where does it end?

I love my SRT8 because:

It's fast enough to get me hurt, insurance is dirt cheap, it's a premium car not a cookie cutter trim level, and not everybody in the U.S. is trying to steal it.
No, no, no and no. It ended with my 2014 Shaker...

Hmmm, I have a 3.6L Pentastar. Have rented a Scat for a few days. If money were no object and I could keep my AWD GT for a DD, I'd get a 1320 for summer use.

I've been watching reviews of the new C8 ZR1 and a lot of reviewers have commented on this. Once you get to a certain level of power and speed it's no longer fun on the street. A car like that is miserable trying to keep it in check.

I do have to say that there's no doubt in my mind my old 1320 would dust my Hellcat off the line, those things will dead hook if you know what settings to use. But it just wasn't enough power to fill MY NEED for speed. But as everyone's saying, DIFFERENT STROKES FOR DIFFERENT FOLKS, clearly not everyone needs a Hellcat, my problem is I've had some really insane High HP Machines and there's no going backwards for me

And I didn't name my Hellcat Widow Maker for NO reason, its dam near killed me a few times, once it came VERY VERY CLOSE, (and it continues to try and kill me each and every time I drive it because I drive it very hard every time). BUT I couldn't go back, and part of the FUN and Magic of them is to understand that power and know how to use it and when, over the years I have.

BOTTOM LINE (for me)

Just wondering if all scatpack owners desire a hellcat. I recently got a 2020 scat with 3K miles. Has the shaker, dynamics package (275's instead of 245's and red brembos), mid mufflers replaced with vibrants, and a manual with a Barton shifter. Blast to drive. Looks and sounds great. Do I really need to spend 20-30K more to go 0-60 in .6 seconds faster? I think I'm satisfied. Just interested to hear the thoughts of others.
Im on my second Scatpack, my first was a narrow body & I now have a Widebody. My first Scatpack I pick up from a dealership & I ordered my Widebody to spec on my second. When I went to order my WB I originally went with the intention to walk away with a hellcat. This is post Covid, so the dealer would not work with me enough to get the hellcat so I ended up getting a fully optioned WB Scatpack. To this day I still want that hellcat

When I had my 6.4 I did think about getting a Hellcat, and I looked hard at a Redeye after the 6.4 was totalled. In the end, I think I would be happiest with the 6.4 and a different cam. Something with more top end rush than stock would make it perfect for me.

I don't understand that at all. The HC is as docile as a new born kitten if you drive it like a six cylinder car. It only acts like an enraged tiger when you want it too.

I'll add this to my post.
If you don't have any experience with high powered vehicles, not getting one may be a wise decision.
Not gonna disagree, but Hellcat drivers (and let's face it, pretty much everyone on this forum) is of the Hold my beer and watch this mentality :ROFLMAO:

That car is sick man!! So cool, love the yellow Alcantara seats. That's a great option. Don't see alot of Scats around where I live with that color seats.

I went from a '17 5.7 TA plus, to my '19 Scat Shaker I just bought last October. Plenty fast for me, I absolutely love the car. No hellcat in my future. I like having a nice Mopar truck too, so I have my Powerwagon. I pay enough every month within my budget for the Scat and Powerwagon, so a Hellcat wouldn't even be possible. If I could do it, I'd still keep the Scat and maybe trade the Wagon for a TRX tho....hahaha..đź’Şđź’Şđź’Şđź’Ş

550 -590 whp I feel would be perfect for me, which is what a hellcat is on black key mode & if I feeling more spirited I could just go into Red key mode with a push of a button. Plus the whine is intoxicating. Especially if you swap the stock intake for a leg maker. For me to make the scat pack anywhere near 550 to 580 I would have to spend upwards towards 20k. Rebuild the motor forged internals, LT headers, cam & a good tuner… now my car is a race car. Say good buy to daily driving

Exactly. Probably due to EPA regs, but a Scat Pack feels the same as a Hellcat below 3k (and I'll bet that the 5.7 is also the same). Things start picking up at 3k, and all of the Hellcat magic is above 4k.

I always drive with the red key, but on highway trips, I'll go into Eco mode, which does nothing on an M6 except drop the power to 500 hp. I'll forget about that pulling back on the Interstate, but it feels just like a Scat Pack. My extended warranty just ran out, but I'm keeping it stock, no desire to mess with modified cars any more.

For one third of the cost differential between what it cost me in 2019 for my 1320 and what a Hellcat would have cost ($20,000), I have 500rwhp via a MMX Max Effort V2 cam (and all requisite accompanying parts). With that, my quarter mile time dropped from 11.492 stock to 10.986. If I'm able to launch quicker and cleaner than the Hellcat driver, I can beat the average one.

With my nitrous, I'm at 600rwhp. Haven't raced with the nitrous yet, but based on comparable nitroused 6.4s, I should be in the mid to low 10's...surpassing stock Hellcats, and still have substantial money left from the original differential.

I wouldn't trade the chop, rumble and shake of my cam for the infrequent whine of a supercharger, even if the money broke even.

I actually don't. I originally intended to buy a co-worker's Sublime Hellcat (2015) in perfect shape at a perfect price. I test drove it 3 times. Each time I was smiling...until someone wanted to run me, cops wanted to tail me, and I kept going back to the fact that I could go to jail just as spectacularly with a 485 HP car. Awesome car, just really didn't need it.

The ScatPack is in the will for my Son-in-Law.

I don't think there is any "envy". V6 owners aren't dying to go to a 5.7L, I would not trade my 5.7L for a 6.4L unless it was a forged 6.4L. I don't think 6.4L owners are just dying to go to a 6.2L but, really who would turn down a forged 426 with 1500 hp?
