driving with the windows down...in the winter

I have noticed that I prefer to have my driver side window down when I drive, regardless of the outside temp. Last couple days it has been in the high 30's on my way to work and most of the way I have the window down. I think it is the sound of my exhaust and the noise from the road that makes me do this. I just feel more aware of my surroundings with the window down. Anyone else like this? :4-looney:

I used to do this whenever I drove all day and then hit a city like Chitown as I would be tired needless to say. With the window down i could easily hear any vehicles beside me and seemed to perk me up. Of coarse this was after driving 1000 miles before hitting Chicago. With my t-topper 1982 Grand Prix I used to drive with the tops off/windows down right to around 32F and just kept the heat blasting.

If it is below 40 I usually do not have the window down unless the Sun is really strong that day.

Riding with the window down

I think this Challenger is the only car I have owned that you can ride with the window down and not have your hair and other things blowing away. I have to think there was some thought given to window down riding. We traded in a very nice Buick Lacrosse when we bought this car and the window down in the Buick was uncomfortable at least.

My wife's Altima sedan was like that. I am tall so my head would be back by the B pillar and you just get blasted in the side of the head and eyes with the wind which sucks. Challenger has good aerodynamics! :smiley_thumbs_up:

Glad to see there are others like me!

I drive with my windows down all the time cold or hot. I just love the way the car sounds with the windows down, plus I just feel like this car is meant to be driven with the windows down. As if to say "Hey! I'm not conservative, I don't keep to myself with my windows up hiding from everyone. No, I'm loud, proud and in your face and I can see your jealous of it." Or something like that, lol... Plus the doors just look sexy being frameless when you step out and have the windows down.

I use to do it a lot. Of course it does not get as cold here in Mississippi as it does in Virginia. I stopped when I got Bells Palsy. To make a long story short, it affected the nerves on the left side of my face, that side of my face got numb, (like a Novocain shot) which caused my left eyelid to droop and the left side of my mouth to droop. The doctor said one of the ways you can get this is by driving with the window down on cool days. It is "cured" with the use of steroid medication. It took about two weeks and I was cured with no ill effects. If you get a severe case, it causes a permanent, slight "droop" to your eyelid and corner of your mouth.
