not sure about the engine hours but i know that the odometer can't be modified by anyone other than 1 company that is licensed to do that, i would assume that the engine hours would be the same, i would maybe call dodge customer service and ask them

 

Odometer should not need to be changed, as it is the miles on the car...

Engine hours is only the time on the engine..if it (the engine) is replaced, then it should be able to get re-zeroed so it track only the new engine

 

Yes it can be reset. Takes a quality scanner to do it. Ive done it when i change engines out to keep track of how many hours is on the new engines.

Ya dealer should be able to do it for you with their scanner. I use a launch pro scanner and it has the capability.

 

Funny thing about hour meters is that they are the norm on boats, standby generators, and airplanes, but not on cars.

On newer cars they are the norm. Just not displayed for the consumer to see. Guess its so dealer can see if the vehicle has been sitting running. Most do it around here cause its hot and they run the ac while not in the vehicle.

 

On my 14 the engine hours are in my display ???

 

Not looking to buy, but to let the dealer know so they can reset it.....

 

My scanner has the same capabilities as the ones dealers use. They can reset it. Might want to call/see a different dealer if they are having an issue with doing it. Some dealers/techs are more knowledgeable than others. See it often. Techs just want the gravy jobs that pay book hours in some shops. If they know/think it wont pay then the customer gets the brush off unfortunately.
