As Joe said, pop it out, very easy to remove and you can put it back in easily too!

 

What about the 2015? The key fob looks a lot different, doesn't have the square end. How does that work?

 

not sure about the 2015, the button is more recessed than the push start in some older models. It may still just pop off but may be a bit more difficult to get something behind it to do so.

 

pops out very easily just be careful you don't lose the chrome ring cause that can fall off as you take the button cover off. took mine off and put this in its place in under 5 min.

For those that don't know this was the Decepticons battle cry, I thought it would be appropriate...

 

I've never even used the button. I'm old school and need that key-like feel to turn the car over.

 

I have a stupid question, I have never pulled the push button off, can you put the Key in there to start it?

 

the button doesn't come off the 2015s. it doesn't need to. the FOB changed for 2015. to start a 2015 if the FOB battery is dead, you hold it within an inch and press the start button.

Yes.
That's what you do if the battery in the fob is dead.

 

Thanks I never new that, and I have had this car since 2012

 

2 or 3 times every winter when it was extremely cold -30, I had to pop off the push start and insert and turn the square end of fob, it would say "key fob not detected" that was a 2013.
I have a 2015 now and the key fob is different so hopefully push start will work on those cold mornings this year.
