at about 8k miles i heard a slight rattle form my trunk when i closed the lid. it sounded like it might be the spoiler and a little investigation showed that to be the case.
the spoiler is held by a plastic covered, metal shoulder nut designed to be hand tightened onto a threaded stud which comes from the spoiler through a hole in the trunk lid, one on either side. there are other mounting points but only these two are visible simply by opening the trunk. the rest are covered by liners, etc.
all others were ok but the drivers side one was found to be still hand tight but loose enough to cause the rattle. i tightened it slightly and all was well.
a few thousand miles later and...same thing.
i was going to use thread lock to fix it but i wanted the nut to remain hand removable and was worried about it attacking plastic if it migrated to some.
i decided to use a small amount of silicone RTV on the threads.
i am up to 17k miles and all is still well. (no rattle.)
