Hello, does anyone know if TA still sells Service Manuals?

I go to the site and it is completely different from 2018.

I did purchase the Service Manual on CD in 2018 for my Scat but I was hoping to pick up the wiring diagram CD.

Now you have to join MTSP? Looking around the site it makes no sense. It looks like it is all for Techs and Dealerships.

I have sent them a note and no reply. Anyone else tried lately?

Just to add to this issue after some investigation.

Apparently you can no longer purchase a CD with the Service Manual/Wiring Diagram information. From what I can tell everything is now on line.

I did receive an email from the TechAuthority specifying the following; "The Service information is now found in the Service Library which has been relocated to the web site at www.stellantisiop.com. You will need to create a Field User on the MTSP (Mopar) web site and assign a TechAuthority subscription to access the Service Library. Then you need to create an account on the Stellantis web site."

So you have to purchase a subscription from TechAutority to access the Service Library on the Stellantis site. The cheapest subscription is a 3 day usage pass for $36.95 USD.

You can peruse the Service Library on the Stellantis site once you have created an account and entered your VIN. You can also see recall and service bulletin information as headings but you cannot access the details of the document, you need the subscription to do that.

I didn't look into it any further. I don't know being that it is now on-line if you could download the information to your PC. Regardless I couldn't find a specific wiring diagram file listed that would show the entire electrical system. They were broken up into each individual electrical component.

For those who purchased a Service Manual CD years ago. I had trouble getting access to my CD as if you remember you need to run it using Internet Explorer which is long gone. It took me some time but I was able to find IE within Windows 10 and it asks you to run it in the OLD mode. I did this and I was able to access the Service Manual. You also need to make IE as your default browser, you can change it back when you are completed.

Hope this is helpful information.

Subscriptions vs one time purchases. From the seller's PoV, a smart move as a continuing revenue stream. The gift that keeps on giving. For the consumer, it's a total suckfest

Same problem here. Bought the service manual from TA way back in '12 and it worked fine on XP. After our system upgrade I was unable to access it......so that's been years now.
I have called them and got zero answers except run it in IE....WTF...they are telling me to find an obsolete system to use their product.
Seems like the company should provide some type of no-cost solution to take care of the customers.

Ok so success! I have it working on Windows 11, and now on how to explain how I did it.

You can set up OLD Internet Explorer mode in Microsoft Edge. I am going to try and give you all the steps and I may edit this info from time to time to better refine the instructions.

(1) Set Default Browser to Microsoft Edge, can be changed later
(2) Launch ME and select settings
(3) Under settings select ME as default browser
(4) Scroll down on the same page to see IE compatibility - Select "ALLOW"
(5) Restart ME
(6) Go to Customize Tool Bar and turn on the IE mode button
(7) Now launch your Dodge CD as normal
(8) you should get the warning messages that you need IE - just say "ok" to both
(9) Your CD page should be open in the browser but no access to the data
(10) Now select the 3 dots at the top right of the page of the browser
(11) scroll down and select "reload tab in IE"
(12) the first time doing the above you will get a pop up window - turn on "open this page..." and hit DONE
and you may then get a message across the bottom of the page select "allow blocked content"
(13) you should now see the normal "Enter Service Information Manual" message pop up
(14) Select your engine and the info should appear on the left
(15) When done you can hit the 3 dots on the top right and scroll down to "exit IE mode".
(16) The next time you execute your CD it should go right into "IE old mode", it saves the TAB, but this only lasts for 30 days, but you can re-do the process.

Because my win11 laptop doesn't have an optical drive I copied the CD files to a USB stick. If you look at the folders on the USB go to /common/html/default and double click on the default file, that will execute the Dodge application. then go as above from #8 on. Of course going forward it will work staright away but only last 30 days as stated above.

I hope the above isn't too confusing and Ill try to answer any questions as I can. I am not a PC expert but I love a good challenge.

Oh by the way TechAuthority was no help at all and if I wanted to voice my concerns I should call the FCA customer service line. As I said earlier the data on the new system is available for on line use only. You cannot download any data. The Library is very confusing to me but I was told there is a chat line to help. Anyway I am not going to proceed any further an get a subscription.

Glad you got it to work. I did this a ways back & just tried again. 1st page loaded fine but when I enter the next step I just get a split screen, no pick. I even installed the SVG viewer.

Just an FYI you can copy your service cd to your computer and create a shortcut as stated in the ReadMe file. You can then change the properties in the shortcut to open in ME without having to make it your default browser.

Even when you could still buy the later Service Manuals on CD/DVD they did not include the wiring diagrams like my 2009 Service Manual did. I found somewhere 2015-2016 and 2017 service information pdfs that had some wiring information - mostly for sensor circuits. Very disappointing. Sometimes older is better - my 1969 Pontiac service manual is still perfectly readable and complete and requires no subscription service. :D

Sometimes you can right click the EXE File and Go to Compatibility this works for some things.
Right-click on the launcher icon.
  1. Select Properties.
  2. Choose the Compatibility Tab.
  3. Check the box that says Run this program in compatibility mode for:
  4. Check the drop down box and troubleshoot with different Windows versions.
  5. Click Apply and OK.

Also download and install Klite Codec pack Major Geeks etc has it.
I always install the Mega version no spyware, malware, adware.
this allows both older and newer Codecs to work and install.

When I install it i always refuse any of the extra bs and check
    all Audio and Video.

I think my issue is it's in compatibility mode IE11. This software requires IE6 or 7. I could change that with the newer versions of IE by pressing F12 to open whatever menu that was and change it there. That menu is not in Edge and what I've read it can't be changed. It's that or something I've not adjusted yet but I've tried this numerous times.

The Compatibility mode I posted is not for the Browser its related to Windows its self. When I did I.T. for several years we used that to get legacy
Software to run. Not sure is that or JAVA / Flash based CD?

IF Flash

Edge Browser
  1. In Microsoft Edge navigate to the website that is missing Flash content.
  2. On the top right-hand side of the address bar, a puzzle icon should appear.
  3. Click the puzzle icon which will display a pop-out indicating Adobe Flash content was blocked.
  4. Click Always allow to allow Flash content to run on the page.

    Firefox Browser
    1. Click the menu button and choose Addons. The Add-ons Manager tab will open.
    2. In the Add-ons Manager tab, select the Plugins panel.
    3. Look for Shockwave Flash on your list. Set it to Ask to Activate.
    4. If the Shockwave Flash plug-in is not present, download and install Adobe Flash.

      In Chrome

Guess I need to explain a little further. Edge is doing what IE did when you did not select IE6 or IE7 compatibility mode from the F12 menu and it states it's in IE11 mode so I think that's where I have an issue. Also going down the steps in the above post there are a few that's not the same. I always had lucked out & figured out how to make it work but Edge is a different monster.

Ok, well those were ideas, only other thing would be to install Virtual Machine in Windows install XP and installer older versions of compatibility stuff.
Still legit sites for that but MS removed them officially off their site. When I installed Windows 7 Corp Extended Life I also installed the Virtual Machine
Software and Windows 7 Corp 64 Bit Extended still my main OS no issues with tons of things.

I also got 10 that way but not installed it yet.

Windows 11 wont touch it with a 10foot pole have ran it in a Virtual Session but it sucks royally.

Browsers I use Firefox ESR and Waterfox with development tools.

It's Adobe SVG Viewer that has to be installed to get to the diagrams which it says it did install but I can't get to the main page to select which engine. Page is formatted correctly with the divider but the rest won't show. I'm sure it's a compatibility version issue.
It made no difference. The only thing the SVG does is allow you to see the diagrams, it's not required to open the manual and get to all the text. I can't even get to the drop down pick to choose 3.5, 5.7 or 6.1 liter engine. That's where the compatibility mode comes in.
Hi Joe, I don't understand why it didn't work for you. I did it on my WIN11 laptop. By the way thanks for the tip on using the short cut and to use "open with" ME, works great. I don't want to tell what you may already know but being in ME is not enough. Load the page in ME and go into ME settings under "default browser" and scroll down to "Internet Explorer Compatibility" and select "Allow". Now back to the page in ME and select the top right 3 dots "..." scroll down and select "reload in internet explorer mode". You only have to do this once. However it will expire in 30 days but you can do it again. Hope this helps. You may get a pop up window asking to basically turn on the old internet explorer, make the selection and hit "done". Jim

Ok now I am not sure but it may be this simple. Go to the top of the ME page and select "customize toolbar" scroll down to "Internet Explorer Mode (IE mode) button", turn this on. Now back at the ME page there should be an icon top right of the tool bar that looks like the old IE icon, if its not greyed out you should be able to select "reload tab in internet explorer mode". Also it may now be included under the settings menu. So now you will get a pop up window on the top left side saying "this page is open in internet explorer mode", select the 2nd option "open this page...", then hit done.

Try Comparing some things between your two Edge Settings,
Open it Edge - Click ••• > Settings > About Microsoft Edge See Which version and update of Edge you have.
IF the Versions you two are using dont match then you call have your culprit issue.

Hi Joe, I can't help myself I am still investigating.

If you have time to try again, so when you select at the bottom "allow active content" and nothing is showing, if you look on the URL line, its very long, but the last file shown should load is named - frontPage.htm, that is the page you should see that contains the year filled in, the model, and the ENGINE field is blank until you click on it. If that file name frontPage.htm is not there then its having trouble finding that folder and file. We can go from there.

Yeah mine goes to front page. I've been through this before when IE went above version 7. After opening IE had to hit the f12 button to open whatever menu that was but you could change IE mode versions on that page. Even then the Engine drop down would not show up until I picked version 7. Based on the Readme file mine will only open in IE6 or 7, your CD may use a newer version of IE so you may not have all the issues I'm having.
