Volt gauge roulette

I posted about this a while back, but still curious about it. Just completed a 2600 mile
road trip, and the car performed flawlessly. My dash volt gauge just seems strange to
me. Here is gauge position at some point on trip at 37,189 miles. - gauge sits at 13.5 -13.6 range.

After pit stop and restart at 37,236 miles, gauge sits 14.8-14.9 range

Further along, at 37,469 miles, gauge is at 14.3- 14.5 range.

Reading will always dance one or two points, but where is like rolling dice. Every time I stop, the readingmay change point range. And it is not like an amp gauge reading, where you would see charge reading vary. This is more like some kind of software switching as precise as it is. Always 2-3 tenths bounce, never more. Any thoughts? Been like this a long time, so I am not worried or anything, just curious. The above seems to indicate volt increase, but it is
not usually linear.

Install a real gauge and be done with it...

The other gauge is fuel pressure.

Our Challengers are loaded with independent computers and they have a communication system between them called the Can Bus system, best imagined as a spiderweb overlay allowing communication to be shared between all the computers.

It is just computers talking to each other maybe one took a coffee or tea break, (jking), which is not a problem, if it ever reads just 12.0v or below, then you have a problem.

Don't worry and look for Challenger problems they are not going to come when you are ready for them. :) Ry

Yes, I am very familiar with canbus and modules having worked on electric lift trucks for many years. It hasn't changed in the 4 or 5 years since I last posted about it, so I am good!!! I am mostly curious as to the source. Just did 2600 miles just fine as well. Thanks.
