I have 2013, RT challenger AUTO v8 , with Mopar CAI , and Zoomers exhaust system .

Want to buy and install long tube headers and this is the price i am getting from a well known shop here in arizona.

Kooks 1 7/8 long tube headers $1000.00
Connection pipe : high flow catalytic converters : $520.00
Labor : $500.00

Total : $2,020

Should i go ahead and do this upgrade ? How much extra RWHP will i get ?

If i have the full ZOOMERS exhaust system , will these headers and converter work good with it ? THe converter looks the same in my ZOOMERS exhaust, or is that converter something else ?

I have the Zoomers exhaust with Kooks Lt's. I also have high flow cats. I just ordered cat less mids to replace the high flows I don't like the sound with the high flows personally. Looking for a little more bark

 

With a stock engine you will see very little or no improvement in RWHP with those mods.

Concur - especially without doing a tune to it. Most LTs are anywhere from 20-40 HP add-ons but you need to adjust the tune to get that. You might also see codes being thrown with LTs without a tune - almost 100% guaranteed if you go catless mids.

A possible option might be to go shorties (7-10 HP range is typical) which give you better low end torque on an otherwise stock engine than LTs, and have the advantage of not needing a tune nor do they throw codes.

I was going to install magnacharger TVS supercharger and also install longtube kooks headers . Hoping i get 500whp after custom tune.

I would personally go with the shorty headers because they dont throw any emmision codes like the long tubes do.

 

Take off SRT headers, best bang for the buck.

 

Another suggestion would be to wait and see what Dodge is offering with the new Scat Pack packages. There are three stages, starting with CAI performance exhaust and custom tune, for the first stage, the second stage is the same plus upgraded cam shaft the final stage ads polished heads and upgraded shorty headers plus tuned.

Not sure if they are offering it for cars before 2014 or not. (Hoping) You may save some cash doing it all at once. The one good thing is if it is offered for pre-2014 cars, it will not effect your warranty.

You may save some money by getting it all done at one time.

I had planned on doing some JBA shorty headers for quite some time now, but I am going to wait and see what the deal is on the Scat Packages..

 

I would go with shorties myself. Look at the Dodge "Scat Pack" packages, the designers of the 5.7 are going with shorty headers on their performance packages, that should say a little something.

The 5.7 hemi builds its positive back pressure in the manifolds, so shorties would allow better flow of the negative back pressure, while maintaining the positive back pressure needed for optimum performance. This is why the long tubes don't give the power shorties do, unless you build the entire motor.

 

The scat packages are in the 2014 cars right ? Don't think i want to trade in my car just for scat packs unless you can install scat packs in my 2013 ? If im gonna trade in my RT, it will have to be for the Hellcat supercharger .
