And why is it that every Camaro (lots of them around here) and Mustang feel the need to speed off at traffic lights?? I guess this is all new to me. People are strange.
pffftt.. I do that too at every light. I just LOVE the sound of this Hemi and love the acceleration. To me, that is part of the joy of owning these cars. I'm not going to hold back that HP

I find myself sometimes shifting from 1st to 2nd and accelerating slowly, but.............that doesn't always work out to well for me. The car just wants to go!

My car won't allow me to do a slow acceleration if I'm the first in line at the light LOL My car just says "green light means GO!" LOL

I know the feeling, I purposefully get into merging lanes just to blow past someone...

So I pull up in front of the Westin today and there is 1 guy working the valet and bellman position. He's got another car he needs to move, so I start unpacking my trunk, because it needs to be pretty empty tomorrow. He comes back and I hand him the key and tell him -no burnouts....I don't have time clean the rubber from the quarter panels....he then asks if he could see the engine bay, so of course I am more than happy to oblige....

After a few oohs and ahhs I head upstairs to get ready for dinner with the Mopar guys...I tell him that I'll be back in 2 hours, so don't take it too far.....

As I'm getting ready, the phone rings....it's the valet....he left the car parked in front of the hotel entrance and people are taking pictures. One couple wanted to know if they could see the engine bay and he was calling for permission to open the hood for them.....

Tonight, when I came back from dinner, the valet told me he'd leave the car in front where he could keep an eye on it all night.......

Your own little private watch dog.

After a week of ownership I have had several compliments so far. Ive also noticed a ton of silent looks. The biggest reaction was from a driver of a challenger srt. I was on my first "cruise" and the guy drove up on my passenger side, gave me a thumbs up, and revved his engine. The gf was surprised. Lol she is now getting used to the looks we get.....

Public Service Annoucement!

If you follow someone in their car and into a gas station then pull up next to them and get out of your truck, with the sole purpose of asking "what color is that?" - you WILL be thought of as a creeper.

*shiver*
Yeah that'd be a little weird... Had something a bit like that last week while needing to get gas. Had a local police SUV parked oh so conveniently where the off ramp deposited traffic onto a two lane road. It's already oh so easy to look back through the blind spot while merging that having him parked there really sucked.

Once I felt like I was clear I gave it a liberal amount of gas just in case I'd missed seeing someone and went about a 1/4 mile down the road to the gas station. I was talking with a guy on his Ducati who was interested in the mods when the police SUV pulls into the parking lot and coasts through eyeing the car before pulling back out. I wasn't sure if it was a Gawker, a Creeper, or a warning....

Hot car, hot chick
I'm sure he thought it would play out like some penthouse forum story, LOL.

Now granted I'm an over 50 grey haired average looking dude so I don't followed. However at least every other time I'm at a gas station a comment or conversation will be started regarding the car. I got that with the Mopar 11 Charger as well, hey maybe I am hot? o_O

If so I'm clearly appealing to the wrong demographic.

My son started Kindergarten last week. There is a car line to drop off your kid at the school and all the parents line up in their cars and drop the kids off in the same area. There are older kids (8-10 year olds) that help the young kids out of the cars. So far, I have gotten comments each day from the older kids when I drop off: Wow!, nice car!, A Dodge challenger, Is that your car? Also, A LOT of gawking. Its pretty funny. One day, I will just smoke the tires for 10 feet in the car line and see what they do. Of course, that would be the day before the school tell me that my son is no longer allowed to use the car line.

After the first few drops off, I was pretty sure I was the coolest dad in the car line, but then I heard that some kid gets dropped off in a Ferrari each morning. I'm now going to have to win the lottery or just settle for second coolest.
