Does anybody have any knowledge of the iDatalink Maestro AR Amplifier Replacement Module ? Its a lot cheaper than the DSR1 .
Correct me if I’m mistaken but I believe the stand-alone iDatalink Maestro AR Amplifier Replacement Module may limit you to the use of the Kenwood XR600-6DSP amplifier which is $800. Might be worth the extra $149 to get the versatility offered by the DSR1 not to mention the RF app that provides mucho tunability options via Bluetooth on your Apple or Android device. It looks like the Kenwood XR600 amp has an app similar to the RF app that allows tuning the XR600 via an Apple or Android device as well. Guess you just need to decide if the XR600 is the best amp to fit your solution then you can save $149 over the DSR1.

Okay Gang,

The installation of my new audio system is complete well except for some minor tuning and the fabrication of a sub enclosure for below the rear deck. I finished the installation of the dash speakers and left door speaker this morning. I am a MAC guy so the firmware update and programming of the DSR1 was a bit challenging...I had to dig out an old PC laptop and bring internet explorer up to version 11, after that, the act of getting the DSR1 up to date and ready to talk to my Challenger via the "T" harness was very straight forward.

If anyone else is going to attempt something like this I am an available resource to give any assistance I possibly can, please don't hesitate to reach out. It was a tremendous amount of work but the reward is worth the sweat equity.

To say I am pleased with the outcome would be a minor understatement...it rocks! With that said, time to take a cruise!
Thank you for all you effort and knowledge in this stereo build!

I live in Haines City, Fl and hope to run into you and your car. As an older guy, who still plays his Roland electric drums and listens to music constantly, I would like an upgrade similar.

My 2019 Scat Pak is on order and I did not upgrade whatever stereo comes in it for the above stated reason.

Thanks again for all your effort.

I too used this thread as the main source of information when doing my install as well.
A big thanks from me as well.

Go to my post here about information regarding the alpine 6 speaker set up.

Hello All,

I know this a subject that has been covered in several threads but here goes another. I am in the planning stage of upgrading my 6 speakers system, here are my tentative plans:

1. Remove all existing "Alpine" speakers
2. Install a pair of JL Audio C2-350X 3 1/2"two-way in the dash corners
3. Install a pair of JL Audio C2-650 6 1/2" components in the doors
4. Install a pair of JL Audio C2-650X 6 1/2" two-way in the rear deck
5. Install a JL Audio 8W3V3-4 8" subwoofer in the center of the rear deck
6. Install a Rockford Fosgate DSR1 Digital Sound Processor via idatalink HRN-AR-CH2 T-Harness with a idatalink HRN-AR-EXT4 extension.
7. Install a Polk Audio PA250.2 2 channel amplifier to drive dash corner speakers
8. Install a Polk Audio PA1100.5 5 channel amplifier to drive doors, rear deck coaxials and sub.
9. Fabricate a custom enclosure to incorporate into the upper trunk/rear deck interior trim panel.
10. Fabricate a custom base to mount amps, LOC, existing compressor and associated power and audio wiring in spare well in place of existing foam block.

I am open to any feedback as I am no expert and I'm sure there are many audiophiles on here with a lot more knowledge and expertise than me.

The photos show the start of the project, I am going to cover the amp rack in black leather, the speaker harness is started and the main power was tapped by drilling into the factory positive battery terminal and bolting my new 4 gauge power lead.
