It's Adobe SVG Viewer that has to be installed to get to the diagrams which it says it did install but I can't get to the main page to select which engine. Page is formatted correctly with the divider but the rest won't show. I'm sure it's a compatibility version issue.
It made no difference. The only thing the SVG does is allow you to see the diagrams, it's not required to open the manual and get to all the text. I can't even get to the drop down pick to choose 3.5, 5.7 or 6.1 liter engine. That's where the compatibility mode comes in.
Hi Joe, I don't understand why it didn't work for you. I did it on my WIN11 laptop. By the way thanks for the tip on using the short cut and to use "open with" ME, works great. I don't want to tell what you may already know but being in ME is not enough. Load the page in ME and go into ME settings under "default browser" and scroll down to "Internet Explorer Compatibility" and select "Allow". Now back to the page in ME and select the top right 3 dots "..." scroll down and select "reload in internet explorer mode". You only have to do this once. However it will expire in 30 days but you can do it again. Hope this helps. You may get a pop up window asking to basically turn on the old internet explorer, make the selection and hit "done". Jim

This is it other than the link to change the default browser and the allow has been set since I 1st started trying to get it to work many moons ago.

I must have a different version because some of the things you have and I've seen screen shots I don't have like the reload in IE in the drop down, I have a button on the toolbar for that. Wondering if some other setting needs to be checked someplace.
very weird, did you ever see a pop up window come up in the top left after you said "ALLOW"? and I believe it had 2 choices, it was the lower one, like "do you really want to do this", slide it over and then hit done. I'll try to take some screen shots of that. Jim

Try Comparing some things between your two Edge Settings,
Open it Edge - Click ••• > Settings > About Microsoft Edge See Which version and update of Edge you have.
IF the Versions you two are using dont match then you call have your culprit issue.

Only thing I've seen with allow is on the screen shot I posted above.
Ok now I am not sure but it may be this simple. Go to the top of the ME page and select "customize toolbar" scroll down to "Internet Explorer Mode (IE mode) button", turn this on. Now back at the ME page there should be an icon top right of the tool bar that looks like the old IE icon, if its not greyed out you should be able to select "reload tab in internet explorer mode". Also it may now be included under the settings menu. So now you will get a pop up window on the top left side saying "this page is open in internet explorer mode", select the 2nd option "open this page...", then hit done.

I can do that, it's running in IE mode but when I click Enter from the start page nothing else loads except the Allowed blocked content at the bottom of the page that you have to click allow for it to open. Does not matter how many times I cut it on & off, nothing happens. It's just a blank split page with picks for the engine at the top not showing up.

Ok so you don't see a Blue selection box under "ENGINE:"? Do you see the year and vehicle model?

Hi Joe, I can't help myself I am still investigating.

If you have time to try again, so when you select at the bottom "allow active content" and nothing is showing, if you look on the URL line, its very long, but the last file shown should load is named - frontPage.htm, that is the page you should see that contains the year filled in, the model, and the ENGINE field is blank until you click on it. If that file name frontPage.htm is not there then its having trouble finding that folder and file. We can go from there.

Yeah mine goes to front page. I've been through this before when IE went above version 7. After opening IE had to hit the f12 button to open whatever menu that was but you could change IE mode versions on that page. Even then the Engine drop down would not show up until I picked version 7. Based on the Readme file mine will only open in IE6 or 7, your CD may use a newer version of IE so you may not have all the issues I'm having.

These are the requirements from my CD which is dated 2018 and I believe as long as you are 6 and above it should work. This is the list. I am trying to emulate what you are getting without success.

Minimum requirements to run this application are:

- Internet Explorer 6 or above
- Intel based computer
- 1GB minimum
- Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, 8 or 10
- Adobe SVG Plugin installed (can be installed from a link on the first page)
- Adobe Flash Player installed (can be installed from a link on the first page)
- Adobe Reader installed (can be installed from a link on the first page)

I was able to recreate your issue, now how and why is another question. I am looking for differences. I did notice that a file called - SI2018LAen-US contains or fetches the vehicle information for display on the frontPage. The front page is basically what you see, just some lines with no information, until the other file is loaded.

I think that's the difference, your cd is 9 years newer so it works with anything above 6. Mine only works with 6 or 7. Edge IE interface is 11 so it's above the 6 requirement.

Makes total sense. If you want to pursue this there is an IE Tab extension module that you can install on Chrome. You go to the Chrome web store and search on IE Tab then you can install it. Looking at the instructions it indicates that you can load different versions of IE from 7 to 11. I didn't try it.

Well this actually made me one step closer, I now get the picks and the menu on the left is there but when I click on any link the window on the right tells me it can't find the page so I think the SVG viewer may be an issue now even though it tells me it's installed.
